It is wonderful TIRFF tradition to close out the festival with a focus on Northern Ireland with our friends and generous supporters at Northern Irish Connections, Invest NI and the Northern Irish Bureau.

This year we welcomed some of the team from DC and of course the local Toronto office as hosts for FOUR LETTER OF LOVE - filmed across Northern Ireland and in County Donegal.

From Irish weather presenters to an Irish sumo wrestler - from the West Coast to the Liberties - from the challenges of family to the challenges of teaching the Irish language when you don't know how to speak it (don't worry its a comedy!).

Our two short film programs feature 16 amazing short films showcase some of the best of Irish filmmaking talent!

Celebrating the first day of spring as we highlight BIRDSONG – playing Sun. March 29th at TIRFF

Ornithologist Seán Ronayne from Cobh, Co. Cork is on a mission to record the sound of every bird species in Ireland – that’s nearly 200 birds. Often joined by his partner Alba, he travels to some of the country’s most beautiful and remote locations to capture its most elusive species and soundscapes.

This touching and insightful documentary will be screened alongside "Cineál Fiáin (Wild Kind)" – a short animation in Irish – that will play before the feature.

We will be joined by the producer of BIRDSONG Ross Whitaker for a Q&A following the screening.

Get your tickets now & explore the other films coming to the Toronto Irish Film Festival, next Friday through Sunday (March 27-29) at the TIFF Lightbox
