Galway Student Race Day 2019 date released - Halloween Bank Holiday 28th October! Tickets on sale from Smokies, Engineering Got a question about the Student Race Day?

Q: "Can I buy a ticket at the gate on monday?"

A: You can buy a regular races ticket at the gate, but this is not the same as the official Student Race-day ticket, and won't gain you free entry to either of the two after-parties on the night. Entry to these ve

nues on the night is €5, but there is a likelihood that only those with official tickets will be allowed access, as it promises to be a sell-out night and official ticket holders get priority before 11pm! Also, unlike the official Student Race-day ticket, none of the profits from tickets on the gate go to charity. Q: "Are there tickets still available?! XL Glasan/NUIG socs box just sold out!"

A: Yes we still have a limited number of tickets available and we're restocked XL Glasan and the socs box this evening. Unfortunately due to a much higher than expected demand our vendors have been selling out faster than we anticipated, but we will do our best to keep both the Socs Box and XL Glasan stocked until we sell out completely. If you intend on going to the Race-day and have not had a chance to buy a ticket we would advise getting one as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Our reps will be on concourse selling tickets throughout the week so keep an eye out for them! Q: "Can I buy tickets online?"

A: Unfortunately we are not selling online tickets as racecourse and afterparty venues are not equipped to process E-tickets. If you're commuting to Galway for the occasion we'd advise getting a friend to buy your ticket for you if possible! Q "Are there buses going out to the racecourse?"

A: Yes we are organising buses to take racegoers to and from Ballybrit racecourse for the great price of €5 return. Keep an eye on our event page for more details!

Hi Folks. Not long left now till the big day. We can’t wait 🎊🎊🎊🎊
tickets have stopped selling today and we’d like to thank everyone for buying a ticket.

Now we’ve gotten a lot of messages about the buses. The buses will be leaving from the Orbsen Building bus stop at 11am on Monday until 1pm. We encourage everyone to get there early as everyone will be searched before getting on the bus. You will not be able to bring any alcohol onto the bus and any alcohol will be taken by the security and binned.

Buses will be begin leaving the racecourse at 4.30pm. They will be returning to the Orbsen Building bus stop and they will also be stopping on the Headford Road to allow people who live there to get home.

Buses will only be for those with tickets that were bought from sellers around she college and Socs box. Anyone who bought a ticket from the racecourse will not be allowed on the buses. Tickets will be checked before buses leave the college and before entering the racecourse. You will need an ID to buy alcohol and to place bets at the racecourse but you will not need one to get on the buses or to enter the racecourse.

The official NUIG student race day after party will take place in , and . Doors open at 10pm and each person will get free admission before 11pm with their student race day ticket so you need to keep it with you. The afterparty venues have the right to refuse admission to anyone they deem is too drunk, causing trouble or not fit to enter the venue.

On the day there will be a photographer, as well as a DJ and a live band 4 mile circus. We hope everyone has a fantastic day and if anyone has any queries please message us.

Well folks it seems some people might have noticed a horse with a large head wandering around the reading room last night. The horse is in fact our mascot GG.
GG will be around campus all week in the lead up to student race day next Monday. GG loves carrots and sugar cubes so be sure to feed him if you see him.

GG also has one electric wristband to give away. In order to be in with a chance to win this wristband all you need to do is get a photo with GG and put it on your Instagram story and tag our page.

Ok Folks race day is only one week away. This will be the last week of ticket selling. Like the All Blacks yesterday tickets are moving fast so get into college and buy a ticket from one of the following locations.
Smokies 10-4
The Engineering Building 10-4
Aras na mac Leinn 10-12
The Bialann 12-2
Socs Box 12-7
Tickets will not be sold after FRIDAY 2PM. So if you’re going out on Thursday be sure to rollover and be up to get a ticket.
Also, like last week, there will be some giveaways this week so keep an eye on our story.

Tickets go back on sale tomorrow for Race Day on the 28th. As an added incentive if you buy a ticket this week you get entered into a competition to win an 44 wristband. All you have to do is buy a ticket from one of the following locations
Smokies 10-4
The Engineering Building 10-4
Aras na mac Leinn 10-12
The Bialann 12-2
Tickets will also be on sale from Socs Box from 12-7 but any tickets bought in Socs Box will not be entered in the competition.

Just a reminder that tickets are back on sale tomorrow for €20. Also anyone who signed a Pink Slip like this one can collect their tickets tomorrow from 10-12 in Aras na Mac Leinn or after 12 in Smokies. These tickets will not be redeemable after tomorrow. As well these two student cards were left on the table at the launch party. Message the page if they’re yours and we can get them back to you

Wow what a turnout last night. Thanks so much to everyone who came out last night. College bar was packed and we sold all our early bird tickets in an hour.

For those who missed out on an early bird ticket don’t worry. Tickets will go on general sale next Monday. Each ticket is €20 and that gets you return bus to the racecourse, entry to the racecourse and entry to one of our affiliated nightclubs on the night.

We will be selling tickets in college for the next three weeks at several different locations. The location and times are
Smokies 10am-4pm
The Enginneeing Building 10am-4pm
Aras na Mac Leinn 10am-12pm
Socs Box 12pm-7pm
The Bialann 12pm-2pm
Socs Box 12pm-7pm
Our sellers will be wearing orange high vis vests so you can’t miss them. Cash only for our sellers based around college but Socs box will accept card from 12pm.

We have already got messages from people who have lost their tickets. We understand this can happen so if you have lost your ticket you can approach one of the ticket desks and they will issue you a new ticket. However you will have to present a student card that corresponds to a ticket number. If you don’t have a student card that is registered with a ticket then we can’t give you a replacement ticket. Also, if you lose a ticket and have it replaced, the lost ticket will be registered invalid.

Finally, keep an eye on this page as there will be information regarding the event closer to the day and we will be running another competition soon.

NUIG’s Student Race Day is BACK.
This year, on Monday the 28th of October, we plan on having the best race day you’ve ever seen.

have teamed up again with all funds raised going to support local rugby AND the brave volunteers who go to Africa every year to help the doctors there.

We’re kicking things off in a major way this week. We will be having our launch party on Wednesday in Sult at 7pm until 10pm. We will be selling Early Bird tickets for €15. That gets you a bus to the race course, entry to the races and entry to one of our affiliated night clubs that night. ALSO anyone who buys an early bird ticket on Wednesday will get free into Electric that night. So come on down to Sult on Wednesday and get you ticket.

We have two Electric Wristbands to give away as well. All you have to do is
