Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival The world's longest running International Oyster Festival.

Created by city hotelier, Brian Collins in 1954, the world renowned Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival takes place on the last full weekend in September each year. The festival is one of Ireland's oldest festivals and celebrates the native Galway oyster or 'Galway flats'. Galway is home to one of the last remaining wild oyster beds in Dunbulcan Bay - a protected bay with pristine water

s perfect to cultivating the rare native oyster. During the Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival, there will be 3 days of events in the festival marquee including the National Oyster Opening (shucking) Champs, live bands, dancing, a feast of seafood delights, a Winners Masquerade Party, World Oyster Olympics - we hope you will be able to join us in making the 68th festival another memorable occasion!

We can't thank you all enough for showing up in NUMBERS!! 🤩

A lot of passion, dedication and hard work went into bringing the Galway International Oyster and Seafood Festival back to the streets of our wonderful city and it wouldn't have been possible without the support of our sponsors, partners, the pubs and restaurants of Galway, who put on a feast like we've never seen🦪🥂🍤🍴👌 and our oyster opening competitors who, with MC put on some show on Friday and Saturday🤩🔪🦪

And you, the people who made it a party🥳
🚘✈️🚍All of you who travelled across counties or continents to be with us for our 71st year
