Menlough GAA are proud to share and promote Oisin's story. We would urge all eligible members of our community to sign up and donate to help with the severe shortage of donors in the country. Read about Oisín's story below.

Oisín's Campaign

"Every Drop Counts, I Know"

Oisín Kelly, a member of Naomh Eoin GAA in Carlow, was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in 2021, and after a lengthy battle, he sadly passed in August 2023. Throughout his illness Oisín received many blood and platelet transfusions, and he and his family learned that many cancer patients require blood and platelet transfusions as part of their treatment – this was a vital part of the treatment for Oisín. He aimed to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation, especially among young people.

Just over a month to go to this Memorial Tournament being organised by Skehana Menlough Camogie Club with the Owens family in memory of Norah Owens. All donations going to the worthy cause of Galway Hospice. What a thoughtful idea! All support appreciated 🥰

We are delighted to launch today a very special event that will be held within our Club on July 25th this year ✨

A memorial tournament in honour of a dear friend and dedicated supporter, Norah Owens who sadly passed away in November 2024.

The Club together with her wonderful family, are running this tournament as part of a fundraising day which will conclude with an auction in Screenes Bar Guilka that night.

All proceeds from the day will be donated to Galway Hospice, as a gesture of appreciation for the wonderful care that was shown to Norah.

This promises to be a wonderful day and night, a community event for everyone to attend, in the honour of Norah ⭐️💞
