Songwriting Workshop at Teach Siamsa, Finuge
Part of the Creative Communities programme

Have you ever had a story, a phrase, a memory or an idea that could make a good song?

Come along to our relaxed and welcoming Songwriting Workshop at Teach Siamsa and explore how ideas can become lyrics, melodies and songs with Donnacha Twomey.

This is a chance to be creative, meet others and have a bit of fun with songwriting in a friendly, informal setting. You don’t need to be an experienced musician or songwriter — just bring your ideas and an open mind.

We’ll explore the different elements of a song, share ideas and work together to develop something of your own. You may arrive with a song already taking shape, or simply an idea that you’d like to explore.

Commencing on Thursday 24th September for 5 weeks for 50 euro.

Places are limited to keep the workshop small, relaxed and interactive, so booking is essential.

Learn, dance and enjoy traditional Irish set dancing in the heart of North Kerry taught by Denis McCarthy as part of our Creative Communities Workshops

Join us at Teach Siamsa, Finuge for a series of fun and friendly Irish set dancing classes, suitable for beginners and those with some previous experience.

Over five Thursday evenings, you’ll learn the steps, figures and movements of some popular traditional sets, including:

🕺 Sliabh Luachra Polka Set
💃 North Kerry Set
🕺 Connemara Reel Set

Time: 8.00pm – 9.30pm weekly for 5 weeks for €50 starting on 1st October.
Venue: Teach Siamsa, Finuge

The classes will be relaxed and enjoyable, with an emphasis on learning at your own pace and getting people dancing together.

Whether you're completely new to set dancing or want to brush up on your skills, you're very welcome.

Leather-soled shoes are highly recommended for learning set dancing, as they allow you to move more easily around the floor. Soft runners are not recommended.

Spaces are limited, so book your place via Teach Siamsa Eventbrite and come along for an evening of traditional Irish music, dancing and good company!

No partner? No problem — come along and we'll get you dancing!
