A public protest will be happening on Saturday the 17th at 12 noon in our town of Dunmore. The people and businesses of Dunmore are demanding action be taken on bridge street. This street is well known to anyone that has ever had to pass through our town. It’s been a problem for as long as Stira has existed. It causes massive delays in getting through Dunmore, as well as damage to vehicles trying to thread their way through the narrow streets, but mostly it is a huge safety issue for pedestrians as this is the road many people in town use to bring their children to school.
We have been promised over and over again that action would be taken, but we seem to be going around in circles, every time it appears we get close to the finish line, the whole process goes back to the beginning, adding years onto the work that everyone has agreed, needs to be done.
We have been given the run around for too long on this issue. This street isn’t just a problem for the people of Dunmore; it affects people in surrounding towns that come to Dunmore or pass through the town. We are asking people in the aera to come to Dunmore and support the protest.
