This is Jeorgia.
Jeorgia is 29, She's a treasured Daughter & much loved Sister .
Jeorgia's greatest accomplishment was becoming a mammy in 2023, a role she embraced. Jeorgia lived for her little girl and last year she became pregnant again & hoped to expand her little family in 2025 and make so many memories with her 2 beautiful babies.
This all changed in January when 6 weeks before her Due Date. She suffered catastrophic brain Haemorrhage & Stroke. It was touch & go for both Jeorgia and her son , who had to be delivered urgently by emergency caesarean section in the Mater Hospital before he was tansfered to NICU in the Rotunda. Jeorgia had to be Stabilised before being transfered to Beaumont for emergency brain surgery & craniotomy. Jeorgia remained in a coma for nearly two months and her newborn son had 1st cuddle with his mammy when she was transferred to ICU in Connolly Hospital.
Jeorgia needed to be tube fed, had a tracheostomy inserted for months . Its onlybin the past few weeks they have been removed . Jeorgia is transferred from bed to a special wheelchair with the use of a hoist. This catastrophic injury has had a massive impact on every aspect of Jeorgia's life. This is still effecting her daily life.
Jeorgia's family have endured so much from initial devastation of being there when onset of the stroke & bleed occured. To worrying about Jeorgias Survival, doing dashes around 4 Dublin Hospitals. Jeorgia's family havnt had the oppurtunity to receive counselling as apart from bedside vigils, they are having to care and raise her 2 babies. We all know how hard it can be with an active toddler and newborn, amd the expense of raising them .Two babies in Nappies and one on formula . The family income has reduced significantly cos Jeorgia's mam had to take immediate unexpected time off work and doesn't know when she can go back as she is raising Jeorgia's babies at present.
I hope initial funds can be used to help Jeorgias mam & family but long term Jeorgia is going have to have more evasive brain surgery in beaumont and a potential long stay in NRH in Dunlaoghaire . There will be additional expenses for her family at these admissions. Funds will need to be raised to help with significant costs of adapting the family home to allow Jeorgia's eventual return
