The Complex is so grateful for the over 10,000 people who have signed the Uplift petition and to Alternative Dublin for initiating it. There is more to do to persuade the Department of Finance to support the purchase. For clarity, this is not a new request. The Complex has been in talks with the Government and Council since 2018, when we moved in and were made aware then that the owners planned to sell. The Board and CEO Vanessa Fielding have worked tirelessly to try to achieve this, commissioning a business plan from Forvis Mazars in 2024, securing ourselves as strategically funded clients of the Arts Council and progressing other funding avenues, all of which can be unlocked but not until the Department of Finance commit to the primary amount.

What can we do? A meeting will be held in The Depot on Thursday, 11th December at 5.30pm for industry chiefs, influencers, politicians, artists, designers, creatives and community activists to galvanise ideas and create a swell of voices. Representatives from the Department of Finance/DEPR will be invited to attend.

A marathon public event will then be held from the 17th - 19th of December in The Depot to raise awareness, with performances by a spectacular array of artists and performers. Stand by for updates.

The Complex can still be saved. It is a vital part of the City's cultural landscape and serves artists and audiences for every art form. Please add your voice by attending any of these and/or by signing the Uplift petition and/or writing to the Department of Finance.
