Suppressed Voices
Monkstown Parish Church
Tuesday 10th March, 7.30pm

Resurgam presents a programme of vocal music from traditions across the globe, centring on music and composers that have been suppressed by politics, war, religious persecution or enforced exile. Featured will be music by some of the ‘Entartete’ composers suppressed by the N**i regime, including Mendelssohn, Saguer, Zeisl, Distler and Milhaud, and alongside Resurgam we will have performances from internationally renowned Palestinian composer, oud player and singer Saied Silbak, as well as Irish singer Éabha McMahon, who will perform works in the sean-nós tradition, which was suppressed until the repeal of the penal laws in Ireland. We are also delighted to welcome Rathdown School’s junior and chamber choirs to perform with Resurgam as part of our outreach initiative with local partner choirs.

A powerful and reflective programme for our times.

Tickets available through the link in our bio and on the Resurgam Website:
