Wacken Metal Battle Ireland 2026 is now OPEN FOR ENTRIES! 💥

The Irish battle of the bands for a slot at the World's biggest metal festival Wacken Open Air returns for 2026!

The legendary WACKEN OPEN AIR festival takes place in Germany with some off the biggest names in rock and metal playing to over 85,000 people across the festival's eight stages, over four epic days each summer.

Through the Wacken Metal Battle Ireland one unsigned Irish band gets to join the WACKEN 2026 line-up and play alongside already confirmed acts like Def Leppard, Lamb of God, In Flames, Powerwolf, Sepultura, Emperor, Airbourne and many, many more.

This is the full Open-Air Festival experience with the chance to play to a festival crowd on a large outdoor stage.

Not only that... the lucky Irish band that gets to play WACKEN then has a shot at winning the worldwide Wacken Metal Battle and gets full access to the exclusive backstage area at the festival and a chance to meet with and hear from other artists, promoters, managers, record label, media and other music industry people attending the festival.
