Hi my name is Laura (Lolly) McGlynn and I am the owner and creator of Crimson and Clover. I have been designing and sculpting within the millinery realm for the past 3 years now, selling at craft markets and bizarres and stocking some vintage clothing stores and various alternative boutiques. I became fascinated originally with the idea of found objects as wearable art for your head and later hone
d in on the traditional old work skills of a milliner and trained in this for a while, whilst keeping my own original style and love of reclaimed materials within my work to this day. My inspirations came from previously having dabbled in dressmaking and costume garment customisation, (always having a delicious attraction to fabric and textile textures), fashion design, my involvement in various different creative platforms and working alongside one of the country's top fashion photographers as an assistant on shoots and contributor in the initial set-up stages of Ireland's first large format photography publication. At the end of the day, in spite of my artistic technical and curatorial abilities, I always get drawn back to working with my hands, feeling the fibres and manipulating the textiles. Each of my designs are entirely one of a kind but I can make a similar one should you fall in love with one of my previously sold headpieces, not many of which you can view here as I sell more at fairs and stores than online right now, something which I would like to get better at! ;) My hats have been used in various photo shoots and as props for vintage hairstylists working in film, even sent all over the world from a whimsical avian themed wedding in Australia to the Burning Man Festival in Nevada desert. If you would like to make a purchase or see more of my designs please check out my Etsy page also, at www.crimsoncloverdesigns.etsy.com
