I made a full (silly) AI music album to test the estate of current AI tools and I’m a bit shocked.
(Prompts and lyrics are available on the album’s page, so you can check it for yourself.)
So, last week, out of curiosity, I tested some music making AI tools and it is spooky.
A simple prompt, 5 to 10 seconds and boom! A full song with title, lyrics, vocals, instrumentation is ready, mixed in a little MP3 bundle.
How long does it take for a person to write some verses, come up with a melody, arrangement, record vocals and several instruments, mix and master the simplest song?
I used to be a full-time musician (long ago), and I can only imagine what music professionals are feeling now.
What will those tools be able to do in one, five years? What will our roles be?
We can’t avoid AI. It is present and it will keep growing.
This experience got me thinking even more about some of the basic questions we could ask.
What do we do with AI and how’s is it going to impact / restructure our work and lives in general?
