D4A's L-Space convention is taking place this Sunday, in The Watchtower McHughs from 1pm till 4pm as part of our Big Gay Weekend 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Come along and make your own badge, swap seeds or plants, trade an artist trading card, pick up some free things, read some q***r zines and radical books or play some chess. Stalls exhibiting: Underground Zine Archive, Drogheda 4 All, Plant and Seed Swap, Spiral, Outcomers Drogheda & Chess Knights Out.

DROGHEDA 4 ALL is a community collective based in Drogheda Co Louth with a focus on building community and engaging in activism through creative and meaningful ways. Drogheda 4 All collective is not for profit, non-hierarchical, does not receive funding and has no political affiliations. D4A are proud of the engagement and encouragement we receive, be it through raising awareness around the realities of the housing crisis, the complexity of homelessness, access to safe medical care, education, safe spaces and genuine inclusion in society.

L-SPACE is an event organised by Drogheda 4 All and hosted by a collective of local community action groups in Drogheda.

L-Space is antifascist, anti-racist. We are LGBTQ+ allies, for free-safe-legal-and local abortion, the protection of biodiversity, and workers rights. L-Space enshrine housing as a human right, dereliction is vandalism and that property owners and policy makers must be held accountable. We strive for community action, mutual aid, and a fairer, more just and equal society. We believe that grassroots community organising is the best way to achieve these goals.

L-Space Convention is not for profit, non-hierarchical, does not receive funding and has no political affiliations.

Our interstellar lineup for the summerween pride party this saturday! ⭐️

Drag performances, live music, face painting, DJs and lots of fun this saturday night all in celebration of pride month!
Fancy dress encouraged!! 🌀

A bit about the acts...

TARA BROOCH: AN ANCIENT RELIC and pathological liar from Laytown, Co. Meath. She hails from Celtic royalty, but has been considered washed up for the last few centuries. Drogheda Alternative Pride marks her triumphant return to the stage, ever since she first appeared on these eastern shores in 1850. .brooch

CRABS: BRIGHTON'S DAFTEST DIVA. They’re almost everything your parents warned you about so prepare to laugh, cry, and fight to be the first to leave

DASH!: HIGH ENERGY NEW WAVE SYNTH POP
The six-piece ascended to Earth from “Space Place” (-!=⊕Λ) in search of intergalactic fun and frolics, but found only intergalactic sorrow and high rents. Their high-octane live shows, skillful songwriting, and catchy lyrics have earned them a growing fan base. .dublin

UNIQUE FREAKS: BIG HEARTS
Unique Freaks are a ridiculous onslaught of bizarre noise from two big hearted loves, Darragh William Hansard & Elizabeth Doyle. Music meant for anyone that loves, to bring you together and pull you apart, for you to look inwardly and project beautiful beams out, for life and death.

CLUR B2B EMORE: CLASSIC HOUSE AND GROOVY GARAGE
CLUR is a 23 year-old multi-genre disc jockey & musician based in Bettystown, Co. Meath. They enjoy spinning a variety of genres but typically favour breaks, garage, bassline, funk and house. CLUR is also 1/2 of Quasi Collective, a promotion duo that aims to uplift local musicians and artists through hosting events & publishing zines, amongst other mediums.

EMORE is a Drogheda-based DJ and promoter known for her genre-blending sets and infectious energy behind the decks. A driving force behind local DJ collectives Mood, DGM, and her latest project Bubblegum. Her sets move through deep, rolling house to darker shades of techno, always with a focus on groove, energy, and intention.

We are having a Movie Night in The Watchtower on Sunday June 14th! A back-to-back screening of two LBGTQ+ films, followed by an open-discussion, and hosted by Scannán Sóisialaí in celebration of Pride Month and as part of Spiral's Big Gay Weekend.

This is a free entry event, RSVP via the Eventbrite ticket link in bio. There will also be a donation station for Parcel of Care .of.care

6PM - CHESTBOUND (2025). A short film directed by Janine Anne Uyanga Following Ray’s top surgery, intimate moments with their chosen family are interrupted by news of their father’s stroke, but returning home to see him would mean confronting Ray’s estranged mother. This film is inspired by the real experiences of post top surgery life.

Los Angeles-born filmmaker Janine Anne Uyanga is a curious storyteller who blends their multidimensional experiences with a full commitment to the Black, trans, and q***r communities, enriching the screen with honest, deeply felt narratives. They identify as a certified lover who profoundly cares for their people, the crew they work with, and the stories they bring to life. Often inspired by the intersection of their identity, resilience, and family, Janine strives not only to capture the world as it is but also to revolutionize what the world could be.

7PM - UNITED IN ANGER: A History of ACT UP (2012) by Jim Hubbard and Sarah Schulman. A documentary that combines startling archival footage and puts the audience on the ground with the activists in remarkably insightful interviews from the ACT UP Oral History Project to explore ACT UP (the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power). Showing how from a grassroots perspective a small group of men and women of all races and classes, came together to change the world and save each other’s lives. United in Anger reveals the group's complex culture - meetings, affinity groups, and approaches to civil disobedience mingle with profound grief, sexiness, and the incredible energy of ACT UP.
