Long Service Awards to Sean Ginnelly & Patrick McNamara

In the midst of our preparations for the President’s visit last week two of our most senior and stalwart crew members were lauded at an RNLI Awards event at Clontarf Castle in Dublin.
Sean Ginnelly, Coastal Lifeboat Trainer & Cox’n/Mechanic at Lifeboat Station and Patrick McNamara, Cox’n/Mechanic at Achill Lifeboat Station were both presented with the RNLI 20 Year Long Service Award at an RNLI function at which similar awards were made to lifeboat men and women from stations around the country. Sean and Patrick are an inspiration to many of the recent people who have joined our crew, they are always at hand to offer help and advice and pass on their vast knowledge and skills gained over 20 years as lifeboatmen. Indeed if you are living in Achill and would like to volunteer with us we would be delighted to hear from you. You will be given the best training and support from Sean and Patrick and the rest of our crew.
We congratulate them on their awards and thank them for their unwavering dedication and commitment to the Lifeboat over the past 20 years.

Dooagh Pipe Band was honoured to perform for the arrival of President Catherine Connolly at Achill Lifeboat Station yesterday. 🇮🇪

It was a particularly special occasion for the band, having also performed at the official opening of the station thirty years ago. 🎶

We extend our very best wishes to the volunteers and crew of Achill RNLI, whose dedication and service continue to make a vital difference to our island community and all who visit our shores.
