Great to see our Friend Matthew Crampsey on the late late Show last night. We all know how talented Matthew is and are already getting excited for him as he will be closing this year's festival.

Expression of Interest – Social Media Support

Greencastle Regatta is looking for someone with an interest in social media to help cover the festival weekend by posting updates and broadcasting events live across our social media channels.

This would be a voluntary role, but it offers great hands-on experience in live event coverage, content creation, and community engagement.

The role would involve:
- Sharing live updates during events
- Posting photos and short videos
- Helping showcase the atmosphere and activities throughout the weekend

If you enjoy social media, events, and being part of the Regatta buzz, we’d love to hear from you. It’s a great way to get involved and build experience while supporting a much-loved local festival.

If you’re interested, please get in touch by DM or speak to a committee member.

Thanks to everyone who came out on that cold night for the light up. I am sure you all agree the village once again looks beautiful. A big thanks to Thomas Havlin and the lads for our tree, it's just perfect for our village. Thanks to Evan Farren and his crew for taking care of the lights for us. Nothing is ever any bother for all of those lads. Anyone who was in the village this evening will be very grateful for the marquee supplied by Patrick and Danielle McClenaghan, it was very much appreciated by all when the rain hit. Thanks for putting all that effort into getting it up today in that weather and everyone who came to help, and also thanks to Andy for getting enough heavy things for us to weigh it down! As always, thanks to the Gormley Family, nothing is ever a problem. Thanks to DJ Rudders for a great set! And of course Santa Claus and his elf! Thanks too to Paul Gill for making sure Santa arrived on time! I am so worried I am going to forget anyone and if I have I apologize. Thank you to everyone who has helped in any way. The effort is truly appreciated.

Finally, I want to thank the newest members of our committee who didn't actually realize they had signed up to be on the Christmas tree committee as well. It's been an absolute pleasure to work with you all and you have each embraced every part of being on this committee amazingly.

That's a wrap from us for 2025. Thank you to everyone who helped with both the regatta and the Christmas tree this year. Our little village is class! See you all on 2026. Merry Christmas to you all and a happy new year
