Street Feast Returns This May to Help Neighbours Reconnect

Neighbourhoods across Ireland are invited to come together on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 May as Street Feast, the national weekend of community gatherings, returns for its 16th year.

The initiative encourages neighbours to share food, get to know one another and build stronger local connections. Last year, around 88,000 people took part, highlighting the growing importance of real-world community.

Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council is delighted to support Street Feast 2026, which continues to create welcoming spaces for people of all ages and backgrounds to connect.

New research shows participants are more likely to know their neighbours, with 75% of hosts saying their area feels friendlier afterwards.
Anyone can take part by registering at StreetFeast.ie, with free party packs available to help get started.
