Join us at Shanganagh Community Garden for a welcoming and inspiring event focused on community gardening and wildlife ponds.
Shanganagh Community Garden is a vibrant, volunteer‑run space where people and nature come together to grow community, strengthen connections, and support biodiversity. As part of Dublin Climate Action Week 2026, this special event will explore how community gardens contribute to climate action, with a focus on how wildlife ponds support biodiversity.
Join Rob Gandola, Senior Science Officer with the Herpetological Society of Ireland, and Anne Murray, dlr Biodiversity Officer, for an engaging talk on the importance of wildlife ponds, followed by a hands‑on pond‑dipping activity at the garden’s pond. You’ll also have the chance to meet the volunteers who care for the garden, enjoy a guided tour, and pick up practical tips and ideas to try in your own garden or community space.
All are welcome whether you’re a seasoned gardener, a nature enthusiast, or simply curious to learn more.
