59 runners, joggers and walkers joined us today at Ards Forest park for our weekly parkrun.
9’volunteers made today possible - thanks as always to our brilliant.

We were joined by visitors from Portneglone, Lisburn, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Bishops Stortford. Special shout out to Helen Segebarth from Market Bosworth Country Park who joined us for her 11th parkrun anniversary and brought treats for all - thank you.

A minute’s silence was held as we remembered Patsy Stewart who passed away this week - Patsy joined us for our first parkrun and was always a supporter and promoter of outdoor activities in the area especially in the Forest Park. His son Patrick and wife Karen are regular volunteers at the parkrun and with their daughters run the Ards coffee Tree which provides us with our post run refreshments. We send our condolences to all the Stewart family - may Patsy’s gentle soul rest in peace.

A bigger turnout for the Ards forest park parkrun couch to 5k this evening - well done everyone.

Ever wanted to get into running or have run before and want to get back? parkrun are starting a couch to 5k this week. All you need to do is register at the link below and you will get a training programme.

We are running some mid week sessions to help you with your training plan - join us on Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm at Ards Forest park car park for some sessions - no running experience needed.

Well done to the 44 runners, joggers and walkers who took part in our event today, a very enthusiastic and cheerful crowd 😃. Thanks to the 15 brilliant volunteers also for another smooth and successful event, including our 2 visiting volunteers, Patricia and Kathleen.
If anyone on here is interested in giving parkrun a go, now is a perfect time to start, see the link in previous post to the Couch to parkrun initiative. We are taking part in this event and starting this week will be hosting a few in person sessions on Tues and Thurs evenings at 7pm, meeting at the car park in Ards Forest Park.

Well done to the 112 lovely people who took part in our event today, good to see many locals and regulars taking part and so many visitors from Derry, Belfast and Germany. Great to hear so much positive feedback and compliments from everyone on our beautiful course. Thanks as always to our fantastic team of volunteers and our two visiting volunteers Angela and Denis everyone did an amazing job in spite of a few last minute changes 😊, shout out to Kath for standing in the right place 👏😀
