🐣 Important Update – Michael’s Pumpkin Patch Easter Edition 2026 🐣
It’s with a heavy heart that we have to share some disappointing news regarding our Easter Edition for 2026.
Due to the ongoing Avian Influenza (bird flu) situation across Ireland, strict poultry housing and biosecurity measures remain in place. These restrictions are designed to protect both commercial and backyard flocks from the spread of this highly contagious disease.
For those who may not be aware, Avian Influenza spreads very easily between birds, often carried by wild birds, contaminated surfaces, or even on clothing and footwear. Because of this, farms and poultry keepers must follow extremely strict biosecurity protocols to prevent the disease from reaching their birds.
Unfortunately, these necessary measures significantly reduce our ability to safely welcome visitors to the farm. Protecting the health of our birds and maintaining the highest possible biosecurity standards must come first.
We had been hopeful that the restrictions would be lifted in time for Easter, however with a confirmed case reported within the last 24 hours, it now appears very likely that these measures will remain in place for the foreseeable future.
Because of this, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Michael’s Pumpkin Patch Easter Edition for 2026.
This wasn’t an easy decision. The Easter event is something we truly love bringing to the community, and we know many families look forward to it each year. But safeguarding animal health and acting responsibly for the wider farming community has to be our priority.
Thank you all so much for your understanding and continued support.
While Easter won’t be possible this year, we’re already looking ahead — and we cannot wait to welcome you all back this Halloween for Michael’s Pumpkin Patch, which we’re working hard to make bigger, better, and more magical than ever before. 🎃✨
We look forward to seeing you then.
With sincere thanks,
Michael Gilmore
