We’ve been sitting on this one for a while… but we can finally confirm it.

We are delighted to announce the launch of our inaugural Connemara Pony Embryo Auction, taking place during the Sceilig Connemara Pony Festival on May 10th.

This carefully curated collection of elite embryos represents some of the most proven and performance-driven Connemara bloodlines, combining genetic excellence, athleticism, and rideability. Each embryo has been selected from high-performance mare families and matched with leading stallions, ensuring access to world-class breeding potential from day one.

Embryo transfer and elite foal production have become a cornerstone of the international sport horse industry, allowing breeders to fast-track genetic progress and invest directly in future top-level performers. Now, for the first time, the Connemara world can access this cutting-edge breeding opportunity.

With the support and trust of some of Ireland’s most respected Connemara breeders, we are proud to present an exclusive, limited offering of embryos closely related to proven performers and sought-after bloodlines.

We warmly invite breeders, riders, and investors to join us on May 10th, where you’ll also see relatives of these embryos competing live, offering a unique insight into the performance potential behind each lot.

So we've some good news and bad news.......
Bad news first.......... our Connemara Embryo Auction was an April Fools...... But boy, what a can of worms we opened! From the reaction, it's wanted, but we are not the team to do it!!
Good news..... our wonderful Sceilig Connemara Festival is still happening on May 10th, and we've finalised our schedule!

🐴 4&5 Year Old Ridden & Workers Classes
🐴 Stallion Ridden & Workers - Great opportuntiy to showcase & advertise your stallions
🐴 Breeders Prize for all class winners and champions
🐴 In-hand classes for Yearlings, 2yo & 3yo's

Open to all registered Connemara Ponies with an emphasis on promoting the Connemara Pony Breed.

Entries will open shortly on Equipe.

These classes are funded by the Breeding Grant Initiative, under National Breeding Services, with thanks to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and delivered by Horse Sport Ireland.
