Another two days of workshops with writer Sean O'Connor in our series culminating in a writing masterclass with ten locally based writers. We discussed key principles in Japanese philosophy, Raymond Carver, the beauty of Silence and 7 Up! Watch this space for updates on where we are going next.

Some of the gorgeous wax resist artwork done with artist as part of our book project: an exploration of care in Clonmel in collaboration with carers, residents, service users, trainees and volunteers in four different settings: sheltered housing, daycare centre, nursing home and training centre.

Next week we return to these settings for a poetry session with writer Sean O'Connor. And a community writers' workshop on Tuesday evening.

Next week, we are back with a poetry workshop with Sean O'Connor. Both these and the pictures will make their way into a book published in time for the festival in September

The riverbanks are in full bloom! Apple trees and hawthorns offer a fabulous display!

A wonderful few hours to be had along the at Greenane. We did some pruning to ensure a good apple crop, put in a few new stakes where needed and devised a new system for the plaques.

We unveiled our Wheel of language game at the event yesterday and were delighted to see that people enjoyed it!

What a wonderful mix of people of all origins and nationalities sharing food, stories, music and much more. Well done to the organising committee for bringing us together, black, white and brown: all people with dreams and aspirations and much common ground 😀👏👍😉

Clonmel Applefest will host a table at the forthcoming Clonmel Together event this Saturday from 12 to 5 pm at CTI Hall in Clonmel. Join us to test out our new Wheel of Language game during which you can test out your knowledge of basic words in 8 different languages from around the world.

The Sliabh na mban Brigid cloak is on its way to Florence hosted by the Brigid in Europe festival Three musicans, the stiltwalker and its producer will be travelling thanks to a grant from Culture Ireland which aims to promote Irish Culture throughout the world. We at Applefest are proud to have been involved in its original production and the recent celebratory event at Old St. Mary's Church of Ireland - Clonmel Union of Parishes, Ireland
