As we start looking back on Cavan Arts Festival 2026, we are remembering a brilliant opening night at Townhall Arts Centre with our Theatre Double Bill.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Nothing But An Old W**d by Fiona Maria Fitzpatrick and A Couple of Focail by Alice Lynch, two powerful, funny and thought-provoking new works that kicked off the festival in style.

A special thank you to the writers, performers, creative teams and audiences who made the night so memorable.

Today we celebrate a very special birthday for the incredible woman behind Cavan Arts Festival.

Kim Mc Caffert is full of heart, vision, creativity, and kindness. She inspires everyone around her with her passion, her belief in people, and her ability to make even the biggest dreams feel possible. Anyone who has the privilege of knowing or working with her knows just how special she is.

Her guidance, dedication, and unwavering commitment have shaped Cavan Arts Festival into what it is today. From a dream to something truly magical, this festival exists because of her vision and determination, and we would be nothing without her.

Thank you, Kim, for leading with such heart and for everything you do for this festival, this community, and all of us. We are endlessly grateful for you!

What a night at The Devil’s in the Dance Hall ❤️🎶💃

A huge thank you to everyone who came, danced, sang and filled Townhall Arts Centre with so much energy, joy and life 🙌 From the music and storytelling to the laughter and dancing across generations, it was such a special atmosphere from start to finish ✨

Safe to say we all danced our hearts out… hopefully your feet won’t be too sore tomorrow 😂🕺

Thank you to all the incredible performers, musicians and artists who brought this unforgettable celebration of music, community and resistance to life ❤️

From poetry and music to storytelling, performance and unexpected moments of magic, it was such a special atmosphere from start to finish 🙌

A massive thank you as well to Pat McCabe and all the incredible performers, dreamers, makers and artists who brought the Radio Butty experience to life at Cavan Arts Festival 🎭🎶

The combination of beautiful live music, powerful performances and moving poetry created such a special atmosphere for everyone there 🙌
