A huge thank you to everyone who took part in this morning’s Fun Run – whether you walked, jogged, or raced your way around the course, your energy and enthusiasm made it a brilliant community event once again!

We’re so grateful to all participants, volunteers, stewards, sponsors, and supporters who helped make it happen.

🌟 Early bird online registration closes at 12 noon this Friday, August 1st! 🌟

Race numbers are ready, trophies are polished, and the weather is looking great for Saturday – we’re all set to go! ☀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

To help ease congestion, we kindly ask all participants to use the free Park & Ride facility from Islandeady GAA pitch (F23 T928) on Saturday morning.

🖱️ Online registration closes at 12 noon on Friday, August 1st – beat the queues and avail of the early bird entry fee of €15 per adult (plus booking fee):

👧👦 U16s are free but must register and have a race number on the day.

A big thank you to everyone who came along to the launch of the Islandeady Fun Run at Jack’s Old Cottage. We're all set for a fantastic day on Saturday, August 2nd, with 5K and 10K walk/run options for all ages and abilities.

Funds raised go directly to support Islandeady Community Council and Islandeady GAA/LGFA – so lace up and get involved!

Mark your calendars for this Saturday, August 2nd, as the Islandeady Cycling Club, in collaboration with Westport AC, is all set to host its annual 5K and 10K walk/run event. Taking place at the picturesque Jack's Old Cottage in Islandeady, Castlebar (F23 AW97), this year's charity run holds a special significance as the funds raised will be donated to the Islandeady Community Council and Islandeady GAA/LGFA.

The event promises a day of fitness, fun, and community spirit, and everyone is invited to participate, regardless of age or fitness level. Whether you prefer a leisurely stroll, a steady jog, or a competitive run, the course allows participants to move at their own pace. Rest assured, the event is officially measured and licensed by Athletics Ireland, with chip timing for accurate results.

The Islandeady Fun Run will commence at 10:00 am sharp on Saturday, August 2nd, starting and finishing at Jack's Old Cottage, Derrycooraune, Islandeady. The route spans 5km, taking participants on a scenic journey in a clockwise direction, culminating back at Jack's Cottage. Those opting for the 10km challenge will complete the route twice. Ample parking facilities will be available near Jack's Cottage, making it convenient for all attendees.

Early birds can take advantage of a special offer by registering for just €15 (plus booking fees) per adult on www.eventmaster.ie before 12 noon on Friday, August 1st. For those preferring in-person registration, the fee will be €20 per adult on Friday, August 1st or Saturday, August 2nd. Entrants under the age of 16 can participate for free, making it an excellent opportunity for families to come together for a day of healthy activity.

Race numbers can be collected from Jack's Cottage on Friday evening (6:00 to 7:00 pm) or on the morning of race day (8:30 to 9:30 am). The race briefing will commence at 9:45 am, ensuring that all participants are well-informed and ready to go.

So, gather your friends, family, and colleagues, dust off those running shoes, and join us for a day of fun, fitness, and giving back to the community.
