Did you know there is a tango with part of its lyrics sung in English by one of the most famous Argentine tango orchestras of the Golden Age?
This video (audio) comes from a rare 1946 🎙️ radio broadcast by Carlos Di Sarli’s orchestra, where Di Sarli himself introduces this version of “Nido Gaucho,” explaining that he believed tango could reach more people around the world if it were also performed in different languages.
In this live radio version, the Spanish part is sung by Jorge Durán and the English part by Bob Toledo accompanied by Di Sarli’s orchestra.
