Host an Event!
Community events have been at the heart of Birr Vintage Week & Arts Festival for the last 57 years.
​Whether it's Dancing at Cottages, the Car Treasure Hunt, eccentric and historical walking tours of Birr, the Birr Garden Trail, sport, Festival Charades and the Bullseye Quiz, the town never fails to come together every August, to put on a show!

Artist Opportunity for Fused Glass Workshop
Join Michelle O’Donnell for a relaxed and engaging one-day workshop at Glasshammer Studios, Rhode, Offaly exploring fused glass.
30 May 2026, 10am–4pm
All materials and lunch provided.
This is a wonderful chance to experiment with a new medium in a supportive setting. Four selected artists will work together to create a complementary group of pieces for outdoor exhibition at the theatre.
Participation is free.

Opportunities for Artists – 2026
As we prepare for Vintage Week, limited venue availability means a slightly different approach this year, while also opening up some exciting new possibilities.
1. Open Submission – Small Works
This year’s Open Submission is for works of 30 x 30 cm. The earlier call gives artists time to create new pieces. Selected artists will also be considered for a solo exhibition in 2027.
2. Arts Trail 2026 – Outdoor Works
We invite proposals for temporary outdoor works. Artists are asked to propose works that engage with the public in creative and accessible ways. We are particularly interested in lightweight suspended installations and textiles. Two secure outdoor venues are also available for more delicate work.

Join the team for Birr Vintage Week & Arts Festival during and in the run up to the festival and get hands-on experience in events, arts & community.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend, Frank, founder of Birr Vintage Week in 1968.
From its very beginning, Frank’s vision and dedication shaped the festival into a much-loved annual celebration. His enthusiasm, leadership, and tireless commitment ensured its growth and lasting success, bringing people together and creating cherished memories for generations.
Frank gave so much of his time and energy to Vintage Week, always striving to strengthen community spirit and make each year better than the last. His passion for the festival and for the people of Birr was at the heart of everything he did.
His legacy will forever remain a central part of Birr Vintage Week, and his influence will continue to be felt for many years to come.
Frank will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. May he rest in peace
