This is a great opportunity to support and promote Bandon — strengthening local businesses, tourism and events, and building momentum for the town.

The Business & Tourism Engagement Evening brings useful insights, supports and connections for anyone interested in Bandon’s future.

Cork County Council, in collaboration with Visit Cork, Fáilte Ireland and the Local Enterprise Office Cork North and West, invites local businesses, community groups, tourism operators and residents with an interest in Bandon’s development to a Business and Tourism Engagement Evening.

🗣️ Speakers and presentations:
• Cork County Council - Welcome and overview of tourism & business development in Bandon.
• Visit Cork / Pure Cork – Destination marketing for the Cork region and how Bandon can align with the Pure Cork brand for stronger regional visibility
• Fáilte Ireland – Current regional tourism activity and opportunities for developing visitor itineraries that include Bandon
• Local Enterprise Office Cork North and West – Enterprise supports for new and existing businesses, including training, mentoring and funding programmes
• Digital Marketing Specialist – Practical ways for small businesses to improve online presence and customer engagement

This Thursday I will be hosting a public meeting in Bandon to discuss the need for public swimming facilities in the town.
Purpose of the meeting:
• Explore viable options – including temporary/pop-up and permanent facilities
• Identify potential venue/site options in and around Bandon
• Discuss a lead organisation/steering group to progress the project
• Review funding pathways and next steps

For some time I have been calling for renewed momentum to secure swimming facilities for Bandon, recognising the town’s longstanding disadvantage in this area.
Bandon has no municipal pool and local families regularly travel to Dunmanway, Macroom and Bishopstown for lessons.

As the largest town in West Cork it should have public swimming facilities.

All are welcome to the Munster Arms Hotel, next Thursday December 4th at 7.30pm. Please share and spread the word.
