PRESS RELEASE,

Club statement.
Fore Club committee who run Walderstown Road Races wish to advise that our races being held on 18th and 19th of July is GOING AHEAD.
Unfortunately, there are rumours doing the rounds in the last few weeks and especially this week at the Northwest that we have failed to secure the works needed on the roads at Walderstown.
These works will be carried out in the coming weeks following discussions with the council and funding received in advance of those works.
The club has also secured a headline sponsor for the event and race and programme sponsors are already coming on board.
The club committee and members are putting in the hard hours as we speak to have everything in place.
So on that note, spread the word and keep an eye on our social media pages for other press releases coming over the next few weeks.

💥ANNOUNCEMENT💥

Press Release.
Fore Motor Cycle Racing club held a follow up meeting to the club's Agm which was well attended again today.
Discussion was about finalising a committee and the running of walderstown road races, Race of the South.

Fore club is delighted to announce we will be running our event in 2026.
Date has yet to be decided on, but will be secured in the coming days.

It may have taken a while to get here, but its a go from now.

And so the hard work begins
A big thank you to all who attended both meetings, new and old members, and to those who took up positions on the committees.

FMRC AGM will take place on Sunday 23.02.2025 in Castle Varagh Hotel (N91 KWP4) at 1pm. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

We lay our dear friend and club man Chang to rest on Saturday 17th of August.

Chang as everyone knew was a big gentle giant. He was always the first to be there to give a helping hand at any event or meeting that took please.

We will miss his infectious laugh and witty humour and the many great days that we had together in Fore and in Walderstown.

Our club wish to extend our sympathies to his wife Cathy, daughters Katie, Emma & April, mother Bernie and the entire McLoughlin family.

A guard of honour will be formed for all clubmembers from the church to the graveyard.

We ask if you have a blue bin please present this on the day.

The death has occurred of Dermot McLOUGHLIN of Ardee, Louth Ireland, on 11/08/2024. You can view the full death notice and add your condolences here.

Happy new year and thanks to all our club members, riders, families, sponsors, supporters and those who continue to help make Walderstown Road Races a success over the many years of racing. Here’s hoping 2024 will bring us some good news for the future of road racing.

Fore Motorcycle Club wish to invite everyone to Fore Village, Co Westmeath for a night of celebration and nostalgia looking back on 50 years of the "Race of the South".
From the days of Fore village to the current track at Walderstown, many a great race has been held.

The evening will begin with a BBQ followed by live music with 2 bands playing on the night, all getting going from 6.30pm.

Hope to see a big crowd, both young and old to remember some great days of racing from yesteryear.

As most will have already seen statements from other clubs in the South, We, Fore club unfortunately have to announce the cancellation of our road races the walderstown road races for 2023 due to the high cost of insurance quote the governing body MCI has received.
This is unfortunate and we are saddened that we are unable run what would have been the 50th anniversary of the Race of the South..

We as a club are hoping to mark the date in some way nearer the race weekend.

Despite the upheaval caused to road racing due to problems securing insurance for events, Fore Motor Cycle Racing Club are cautiously optimistic that this year’s Race of the South at Walderstown can go ahead.
