📸 CRAFT Animfest 2025 — Day 5 | 1 November 2025

Apart from workshop and masterclass, the final day of CRAFT Animfest 2025 at Studio Kalahan was also held the second screening of Shorts for Kids. Children were given their last chance to vote for their winner. The day continued with a screening and Q&A of Panorama Animasi Indonesia – Student. The session brought fresh energy to the morning, as student filmmakers shared their works and creative processes, engaging directly with the audience in an open discussion.

🎬 Meanwhile at Griya Monika, the festival continued with a re-run screening of the Southeast Asia Competition, giving audiences another opportunity to experience standout films from the region. The program was followed by a special screening of Best of Rising of Lusitania Animadoc Film Festival, presenting a curated selection of animated documentaries that expanded the festival’s perspective on storytelling and form.

🏆 As night fell, the festival gathered once more at Studio Kalahan for the Awarding & Closing Night. In a warm and intimate atmosphere, awards and special mentions were presented, followed by the screening of winning films. The evening ended with shared conversations over bakmi goreng from street food carts and cups of wedang ronde, a simple yet heartfelt way to close five days of films, collaboration, and community at CRAFT Animfest 2025.

On DAY 5 of CRAFT Animfest 2025 (1 November 2025) we collaborated with Manajemen Talenta Nasional (MTN) Seni Budaya - Film and presented two learning programs that explored animation beyond technique - positioning it as a medium of storytelling, emotion, and cultural expression. Held at Studio Kalahan, the programs connected emerging animation talents with reflective, hands-on, and cross-disciplinary approaches. Not less than 80 animation talents were gathered to joined one of two programs;

MTN Asah Bakat x Wayang Lostang
MTN Asah Bakat x Masterclass Julia Hazuka

Through Wayang Lostang Workshop, participants explored the “los tang” method—letting go of rigid control to embrace intuition, spontaneity, and collaboration. By creating manual assets and building stories collectively, the session highlighted animation as a fluid and process-driven practice rooted in experimentation.

Meanwhile, Masterclass with Julia Hazuka guided participants through the emotional and symbolic language of traditional animation, using The Grand Mother as a case study. Together, these sessions embodied MTN Asah Bakat’s mission: nurturing talents by bridging local cultural roots with universal storytelling in animation.

Activities beyond Studio Kalahan

On Day 3, CRAFT Animfest 2025 extended its activities to Griya Monika, Lapangan Mejing Lor, and Hompimpark. At Griya Monika, the day marked the final day and closing of Animasi Camp 2025, followed by a Panorama Animasi Indonesia – Student screening attended by several filmmakers. The venue then hosted the first day of Animasi Conference, organized with Pengaji Animasi, featuring speakers lecturer Nita Virena, studio owner Diecky Suprayogi, headmaster Roy Thok, and vocational school teacher Mardi.

Later, Lapangan Mejing Lor welcomed families and children for an outdoor Panorama Animasi Indonesia for Kids screening. It was the first night of the outdoor screening program “SOROT” opened by Sanggar Wiraga Yoga, featuring five new creative dance pieces performed by 17 young dancers, both children and teenagers.

Finally the night was ended with Community Gathering in Hompimpark as a relaxed communal space for festival-goers to gather and interact.

Day 3 highlighted how CRAFT Animfest brings animation beyond conventional venues - connecting education, community, and public spaces into one shared festival experience.

Business Meeting Documentation – CRAFT Animfest 2025 🤝✨
October 29, Evening Session

On the evening of October 29, CRAFT Animfest hosted a special business meeting between a visiting Japanese creator represented by Yoshiharu Ashino and four Indonesian animation creation & production houses: Leo Motion, Ayena Studio, Saroong Studio, and Hizart Studio.

Each studio had the opportunity to present their ongoing projects, portfolios, and service capabilities, while the Japanese delegation shared their creative works, production approaches, and plans for future collaborations. The session opened a meaningful space for both sides to explore potential co-production opportunities, outsourcing partnerships, and creative exchange.

By facilitating this meeting, CRAFT Animfest continues its mission to act as a bridge within the animation ecosystem, strengthening connections between local and international stakeholders and playing an active role as a matchmaker for future collaborations in the region.

A warm thank-you to all studios and guests who took part in this important networking moment. 🚀🇮🇩🇯🇵
