Since the end of 2003 in the very beginning it was established, Danes Art Veranda (DAV) has been active holding art and cultural events, exhibiting and communicating artworks from traditional to contemporary artists, which came from Indonesia as well as overseas. The idea came from a well-known Balinese architect, Popo Danes. He was intended to provide a space for art and cultural activity in Bali. DAV is located side by side by Popo’s architect studio on Jalan Hayam Wuruk no. 159 Denpasar, on the heart of Denpasar City
Every year, DAV holds art and cultural events, such as solo or group visual art exhibitions, art performance, happening art, presentation, press conference public dialog between artist, journalist, and environment activist as well other creative events. The event is also not limited inside DAV but also held on other places in Indonesia and overseas. As a place that proclaimed itself as an art space, DAV does not merely provide a space for established art but new art and cultural movement as well. DAV gives space for art and cultural exploration to all class society. Moreover, DAV looks forward to form awareness of creative public space
