Courtney

Courtney, based in Newcastle, Australia, heard about Bali Hoipe through a couple of friends who came in 2022. And now she's joining us in May 2024 for her first ultramarathon.

Judging by what she has already accomplished at a young age you can tell Courtney excels at anything she puts her mind to, and with strong family connections to Bali she's clearly motivated to make a big impact with her fundraising too.

It has already been a pleasure having Courtney involved in the group and we can't wait to welcome her to Bali in May.

Jo Webb

Very excited to welcome Jo on to the 2024 Bali Hope Ultra team. Jo, along with a couple of others in the team, originally signed-up for the 2020 so it's special to have her coming in May next year.

Based in Sydney, Australia Jo is a committed runner, has crewed numerous races, and having completed 30km herself will be joining as a first time ultra runner.

And speaking of first ultras since 2018 not only have we had over half our team members fly in to Bali as first-timers but we've had a 100% finish rate - something about the amazing humans we attract and the support we seek to provide across the island and through the night.

Can't wait to witness the impact Jo will make and share the 7 days with this extraordinary woman.

Sian & Adrian

Adrian joined us in May 2023 and signed-up for the 2024 team on day two of the week.

As soon as you get to know this man you know you've come across someone pretty special and we're over the moon that he's bringing his amazing partner Sian who is brand new to ultra running.

On top of that his cousin James and son Noah will also be on the start line and we'll have many of their family in the support crew.

Adrian only took up running 3 years ago and has since built an incredible CV in endurance events. Here Adrian and Sian are completing an Ironman together. Have to love that!

Daniel Lucchini

Delighted to have Daniel on board.

Starting his running journey only 4 years ago Daniel has completed more than 25 ultras, over 40 marathons and recently ran over 10,000km in 12 months. Needless to say he's an extraordinary athlete but also exactly the kind of human you'd want alongside you on an overnight coast-to-coast double marathon.

Daniel is bringing his partner with him which is going to make the week extra special. Welcome on board Daniel!

Throw back to December 2019 and the last Bali Hope Swimrun.
Come September it will be almost four years since we last came together for this unique race and a chance to help the island community of Lembongan island and their campaign against the plastics crisis.

Joseph and Nick both signed up as individuals, came over from the US and formed a team who completed the course in style and came in with a podium finish.

Two brilliant guys who we hope to see back with us in a few months time.

The community that Bali Hope has come together around our events, including the ultra, swimrun and the challenge events we put together during lockdown, have demonstrated an enormous sense of loyalty to our mission. Incredibly grateful to these two and what they achieved in 2019.

"The Returners"

The community that has come together around the Bali Hope Ultra since 2017 has been special.

Everyone involved has been a huge part of that.

But there's a need to shout out "The Returners".

These amazing humans have played a massive role in making this event what it is.

Some of these legends have come back multiple times to take on and/or support the overnight coast-to-coast double marathon and fundraise to change lives with our award-winning impact partner Bali Children Foundation.

Not enough words to thank the 2022 team and crew for bringing the Bali Hope Ultra magic back to life in 2022 after a 3 year hiatus and changing 100s of lives in the process.

Can’t wait to do it all again In May.

Adrian Copeland

We always seem to get super lucky with who the Bali Hope Ultra attracts, whether experienced endurance athletes or first-time ultra runners. (It still surprises us how many team members sign-up without having completed an ultramarathon before).

Adrian is a case in point. Another everyday hero and change-maker, Adrian somehow balances running a business, taking care of his family, and regularly tackling multi-sport endurance events.

The Bali Hope magic happens when we bring together the individuals involved for the seven days and witness them share the challenge of the overnight double marathon, the life-changing impact they will make with their fundraising and the new friendships formed.

Can't wait to meet Adrian in person this May.

Jen Dugard

Time to welcome another inspirational human to the 2023 Bali Hope Ultra team.

This Sydney-based endurance athlete, coach and entrepreneur will bring something special to the group. Over the last 15 years, Jen has built an extraordinary fitness community, specifically supporting mums to get back into fitness.

As a former elite-level obstacle racer and half-marathon runner, it says a lot about Jen that she's taking on her first ultramarathon to help make change happen for a disadvantaged community in Bali.

We can't wait to meet Jen in person and welcome her to Bali in May!
