FIRSTborn舞蹈系列之一——馬汶萱《身體本錢》

在這裡，身體不只是被觀看與被感受，也被標價。

編舞家馬汶萱以自身經驗出發，邀請觀眾走進一個介乎表演與現實之間的場域，探索身體、自主性、渴望與價值之間的複雜關係。

作品以脫衣舞的結構作為劇場語言，在一個模擬的俱樂部空間裡，建構一場「被編排的親密」體驗。當親密被設計、觸碰被定價，觀眾與表演者之間的界線逐漸變得模糊。在愉悅與不安、連結與距離之間，我們重新思考：當身體成為一種本錢，人還可以成為甚麼？

FIRSTborn Creative Platform: Noon – Body Capital

Here, the body is not only seen and sensed, but also assigned a price.
Inspired by lived experience, choreographer Noon invites audiences into an immersive space suspended between performance and reality, examining the intricate interplay of the body, autonomy, desire, and value.

Employing the dramaturgy of st******se, Body Capital unfolds as a "choreographed intimacy" within a simulated club environment. As closeness is designed and touch becomes commodified, the boundary between audience and performer gradually begins to blur. Between pleasure and unease, connection and distance, the work invites us to reflect: when the body becomes capital, what else can a human still be?

🛤️西九讀劇會《Platform to Santiago Dream》創傷困局下的超現實旅程

在火車站月台上，男子一次次救下準備踏上軌道的女子，二人在對話中走進由記憶、思念與創傷交織而成的奇幻時空。隨着列車駛過，關於「家」的片段逐漸浮現，拼湊出一個離奇而動人的超現實世界。

本作由香港演員兼創作人郭翠怡 (Tree) 編創，是其首個由粵語翻譯成英語發表的原創劇本。身兼演員、編劇及導演的她，現任香港演藝學院兼職講師，曾獲香港小劇場獎最佳編劇提名及最佳女主角獎肯定。

Tree 形容，劇中的月台既不是起點，也不是終點，而是一個「閾限空間」（liminal space）。當人經歷巨大創傷時，有時就像被卡在兩站之間，無法前進，也無法離開。劇中的角色正身處這樣的狀態，在等待與停留之間，尋找繼續活下去的可能。

🛤️ A Surreal Journey of Trauma and Memory in WestK Script Reading Club: Platform to Santiago Dream

Set on a train platform, Platform to Santiago Dream tells a story of a man who repeatedly meets a woman as she is about to step onto the tracks. Each time, he intervenes to save her, and their conversations gradually draw them into a dreamlike world where memory, longing, and trauma intertwine. With each passing train, fragments of “home” emerge, revealing a haunting yet deeply moving surreal landscape.

Written by Hong Kong actor and theatre maker Tree Kwok, this is her first original play translated from Cantonese into English for publication. A playwright, director, actor, and educator, Kwok is a part-time lecturer at HKAPA and has received Hong Kong Theatre Libre Awards recognition, including Best Actress.

Tree describes the platform in the play as neither a point of departure nor a final destination, but a liminal space. In the aftermath of profound trauma, a person can become trapped between two stations, unable to move forward and unable to leave. The characters inhabit this suspended state, lingering between memory and motion as they search for a way to go on living.

💬The programme also features a sharing session after the 2 October performance, where the creative team will share insights into the translation process and creative journey. A must-attend opportunity for theatre lovers to go beyond the performance and experience the creative process up close!

培育本地戲曲新秀 傳承藝術薪火
西九演藝與專屬鐘錶合作夥伴勞力士合作成果展演

西九演藝與勞力士自2025年展開合作以來，迎來重要里程碑，早前於戲曲中心茶館劇場呈獻成果展演，體現雙方攜手推動高質素表演藝術節目、培育本地戲曲新秀，以及支持文化保育與傳承的共同承諾。

當晚表演由西九演藝旗下茶館新星劇團擔綱演出，展示年青演員早前在勞力士「藝術傳承・恒動不息」計劃（Perpetual Arts Initiative）的支持下，經大師班的戲曲名師指導與密集訓練後的學習成果，大師班導師包括「越劇第一女小生」及三屆梅花獎得主茅威濤、著名京劇及崑劇小生溫宇航，以及粵劇名伶羅家英及江雪鷺等。

作為西九演藝的專屬鐘錶合作夥伴，勞力士於過去一年透過其「藝術傳承・恒動不息」計劃，支持西九演藝旗下多個重點節目，包括殿堂級爵士歌手戴安‧韋芙絲（Dianne Reeves）、雲門舞集《毛月亮》以及茶館劇場「粵・樂・茶韻」。雙方藉此致力培育新銳人才，促進國際藝文界的交流，讓精湛的藝術造詣歷久彌新，為全球文化傳承作出深遠貢獻。

A meaningful showcase was held to celebrate our partnership with Rolex, the Exclusive Timepiece of WestK Performing Arts, and the remarkable progress in nurturing local Xiqu talent.

The event marked a key milestone in the partnership between WestK Performing Arts anROLEXEX, which was launched in 2025. It reflects a shared commitment to developing high-quality performing arts programmes, fostering local Xiqu talent and supporting the preservation and transmission of cultural heritage.

Held at the Tea House Theatre in the Xiqu Centre, the performance highlighted the progress of the Tea House Rising Stars Troupe following a series of intensive masterclasses led by distinguished Xiqu masters from Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland, supported by the Rolex Perpetual Arts Initiative. Mentors included renowned Yue opera artist and three-time Plum Blossom Award-winner Mao Weitao; distinguished Kunju and Peking opera artist Wen Yu-hang, and acclaimed Cantonese opera artists Law Ka-ying and Kong Suet-lo.

As the Exclusive Timepiece of WestK Performing Arts, Rolex has supported major programmes over the past year through its Perpetual Arts Initiative, including a performance by acclaimed jazz singer Dianne Reeves, Cloud Gate Dance Theatre’s Lunar Halo, and Tea House Theatre Experience. Through these programmes, the partnership supports emerging artistic talent, fosters international cultural exchange, and contributes to the transmission of artistic excellence and cultural heritage.

國家級非物質文化遺產石家莊絲弦🎭《楊門女將》、《宗澤與岳飛》亮相戲曲中心

兩台石家莊絲弦大戲將於戲曲中心上演——由石家莊市絲弦藝術中心一眾年青演員，帶來蒼勁古樸的燕趙戲曲文化。河北省特有的石家莊絲弦是全國稀有的地方戲曲劇種 ，於2006年列入首批國家級非物質文化遺產，以高亢激昂的唱腔及俐落流暢的武戲見稱。

⚔️ 11月27日（星期五）上演《楊門女將》，講述楊家一門寡婦披甲出征，保家衞國的故事。舞台上穆桂英、佘太君、楊七娘等巾幗英雄一身戎裝，在石家莊絲弦獨樹一幟的藝術風格下，更顯英姿颯爽。

🏹 11月29日（星期日）演出原創劇目《宗澤與岳飛》，講述北宋老將宗澤慧眼惜才，冒死相保少年岳飛，最終二人奉命聯手出征。是次演出由兩組年青演員分別擔演，觀眾可細味不同演員的文武功架。

🎭 National Intangible Cultural Heritage Shijiazhuang Sixian Comes to the Xiqu Centre

This November, two colourful Shijiazhuang Sixian opera productions are staged in the Xiqu Centre, offering Hong Kong audiences a rare chance to experience this unique regional xiqu tradition, distinguished by its fast-paced tempo, vivid characterisations, and an exacting performance style that blends emotional arias with fierce combat.

⚔️ The Women Generals of the Yang Family (27 Nov) tells the story of a widowed clan of female warriors who rally to defend their homeland – bringing to life iconic heroines from Chinese history with the unique vigour and artistry of Sixian opera.

🏹 The Hero and His Successor (29 Nov) tells the story of seasoned general Zong Ze, who recognises the potential of the young soldier Yue Fei and champions his rise to joint command on the battlefield.

🐉“No Dragon No Lion” by TS Crew: The Conference's opening performance reimagines the traditional Lion Dance and Chinese Opera for the contemporary stage through a dynamic blend of Kung-Fu, dance-circus, martial arts, parkour, and puppetry, with live beatboxing. The show returns to Hong Kong following its Asian Arts Award-winning run in 2022 and successful 2023 and 2024 seasons in Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

⛰ “Book of Mountains and Seas – The Fates of Mountains and Rivers・Excerpt” by Théâtre de la Feuille: A physical theatre inspired by the ancient Chinese classic “Book of Mountains and Seas” traverses a fantastical pre-cultural world and explores the natural harmony between heaven, earth, and humanity. The production was invited to the Aranya Theater Festival and, after its Hong Kong premiere, appeared at Tokyo's KANZE Noh Theater, a stage with over a century of history.

🌬️”PHONATE” by Wayson P**n: This local contemporary dance work features four dancers with their lips taped shut, each holding a small harmonica between their lips. Through the flow of breath and the connections it creates, the work highlights the power of togetherness in times of global upheaval.

本地獨立搖滾樂隊 Midnight Cowboy帶來首張專輯《See You Down The Road》，重新詮釋香港詩人飲江玩味的粵語詩作，搭配精心策劃的即時影像，交織出充滿詩意的搖滾之夜。

Midnight Cowboy 由江逸天、古本森及梁銘浚組成 ，三人一起隨性創作，音樂遊走於率性與細膩之間，將電影配樂、視覺藝術、文學與即興創作結合，透過當刻即興碰撞，追尋自由與情感深度。

Local band Midnight Cowboy brings a live performance of their debut album See You Down The Road, a body of work that unbridles the verse of Hong Kong poet Yam Gong and lets it run wild through sound!

Formed by Olivier Cong, Benson Koo and Travis Leung, Midnight Cowboy draws on distinct creative worlds spanning film scoring, visual art and holistic practice. Their songs take shape instinctively, with improvisation letting rock’s raw energy move through the natural rhythms and cadences of Cantonese.

🎭西九讀劇會《血濃於金》重新想像香港黃金時代下的兄妹情

西九讀劇會《血濃於金》原著作品《Golden Blood》以一對在社會邊緣相依為命的兄妹為主角，細膩描繪親情羈絆，同時融入新加坡華人文化及民間習俗。在今次讀劇會，本地編劇鄒棓鈞（Alastor）把劇本重新改編成粵語版本，把故事移植到香港黃金時代，為這個故事注入獨特的本地色彩。

從原作充滿新加坡色彩的 Singlish，到香港語境下的廣東話，語言背後承載着獨特的文化邏輯。相同的故事情節與人物關係，放到另一個城市與時代，角色的說話方式、情感表達又會有什麼不同？

在Alastor眼中，《血濃於金》探討的不只是兄妹間的親情。更是一種「共生卻又互相困住」的狀態，在愛、責任與依賴之間糾纏不清。當「家」既是避風港，也是囚室，人又該如何面對那些無法割捨的牽絆？

🎭WestK Reading Club: Golden Blood Reimagines a Bittersweet Sibling Story in Hong Kong’s Golden Era

Based on the critically acclaimed play Golden Blood, WestK Reading Club: Golden Blood tells the story of a brother and sister struggling on the margins of society, bound together by an unbreakable family bond. Blending Singaporean Chinese culture and folk traditions, the original work offers a nuanced portrayal of familial bonds. In WestK Reading Club, Hong Kong playwright Alastor Chow adapts the play into Cantonese and relocates the story to Hong Kong’s golden era, bringing a distinctive local perspective to this acclaimed work.

From the distinctly Singaporean flavour of Singlish to the rhythms of Hong Kong Cantonese, language carries its own cultural logic. When the same story and character relationships are placed in a different city and era, how might the characters speak differently, express themselves differently, and relate to one another in new ways?

In Alastor’s eyes, Golden Blood explores more than the bond between siblings. It is also a relationship of “co-dependence that traps them both”, where love, responsibility and reliance become deeply entangled. When home can be both a haven and a prison, how do we face the ties we cannot bring ourselves to leave behind?
