HKUST, Shaw Auditorium Home to HKUST’s cultural activities and a new landmark for large-scale events.

The Shaw Auditorium is home to HKUST's cultural activities and a new landmark for large scale events, providing new flexibilities and possibilities to create a vibrant arts and cultural scene at the University. Established in 2021, the venue serves as a multi-purpose auditorium with a seating capacity of around 850 for concerts and over 1,300 in flat floor configurations, the venue can be used to

host different kinds of events such as concerts, theater performances, lectures, exhibitions, and ceremonies. There are also supporting facilities offering space for seminars, rehearsals, small-scale performances, and gatherings both indoors and outdoors. We would like to sincerely thank the Shaw Foundation Hong Kong Limited’s generous HK$150 million donation which has made possible this impressive outcome before our eyes.

🎶✨ A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the recital by classical guitar master ᴀɴᴛᴏɴɪᴏ ʟóᴘᴇᴢ ! Following his well received 2023 performance, he returned to HKUST in 2026 and delivered another unforgettable concert.

The program featured works by 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐌. 𝐏𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞, one of Mexico’s most esteemed composers. His guitar music, celebrated for its lyrical beauty and expressive melodies, resonated deeply with the audience. 🌙✨

This ground-breaking masterpiece condensed the incredible 72-hour, 298-km Hong Kong Four Trails Ultra Challenge into a 101-minute film. While the runtime is short, the participants' courage and perseverance continue to leave an unforgettable impact. With each frame of the movie, it feels as if we’re reliving that epic journey firsthand.

🙌 We were also honored to have the film director Robin LEE for a post-screening talk, where he shared behind-the-scenes stories and engaged in thought-provoking discussions with the audience, making the experience even more meaningful and inspiring.

🎬 Media Technology and Publishing Center and Shaw Auditorium Unit are thrilled to present the final movie of Campus Cinema on 13 May, 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥! 🌟

𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 is a heartwarming Pixar animation directed by Peter Sohn. Set in a city where Fire, Water, Earth, and Air live separately, the story follows Ember (voiced by Leah Lewis), a fiery young woman, and Wade (voiced by Mamoudou Athie), a go-with-the-flow water guy. When an accident threatens Ember's family store, the two opposites are forced to work together. Along the way, they discover that their differences may be their greatest strength. ✨
