The ๐๐น๐ถ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐ถ๐ ๐ ๐ถ๐น๐ผ๐ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ ๐ ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด derives its name from the island where it is hosted, a tradition upheld since its inception in 2018. Until 2023, the event was known as Portarathlon, paying homage to the iconic Portara of Naxos, the previous host island. This connection was evident even in the event's logo. In 2024, the meeting transitions to a new location, with ๐ ๐ถ๐น๐ผ๐ taking the helm as
the hosting island. We chose the name ๐๐น๐ถ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐ถ๐ , drawing inspiration from both the renowned Aphrodite of Milos and the island's emergence from the sea, signifying "๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ผ ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ด๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ." ๐ ๐ถ๐น๐ผ๐ surfaced from the depths 15 million years ago due to tectonic shifts, a phenomenon celebrated in mythology where ๐๐ฝ๐ต๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ต๐ฎ๐ถ๐น๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฎ๐ "๐๐น๐ถ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐ถ๐," ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ด๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐. Now in its sixth annual occurrence, the combined events meeting, initially conceived as a competitive platform for Greek athletes lacking opportunities for combined competitions, has evolved significantly. Beginning modestly on Naxos in its inaugural year, it gradually expanded its reach, attracting athletes from Serbia, Ukraine, and beyond. Each year witnessed a growth in participation, extending even beyond European borders and earning recognition from the The meeting's ascent is evident in its rising numbersโmore athletes, improved performances, heightened competition, and numerous individual records, alongside qualification benchmarks for major competitions. However, beyond statistics, the meeting has become a platform for fostering relationships and camaraderie among participants. Athletes, coaches, and officials engage in year-round discussions, transcending their roles as mere competitors to embrace their identities as social beings. Rejecting the notion of athletes as mere performance-driven entities, the meeting champions the human aspect of sportsmanship, emphasizing friendship, cooperation, and equitable competition. As advocates for preserving the integrity of sports, we remain committed to upholding these values, resisting any attempts to prioritize performance at the expense of human dignity. Our meeting stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of sportsmanship, fostering respect for every athlete, irrespective of their background or achievements.
