A Powerful Message to Travel Agents in Ghana
The time has come for travel agents in Ghana to consider the lives, struggles, and hard-earned money of the very people who trust them. Too many innocent individuals are being charged outrageous fees in the name of visa processing—amounts like ¢30,000 to ¢50,000, with no guarantee and no transparency. This is wrong, and it must stop.
Applying for a visa does not cost that much. In fact, most visa applications cost less than ¢3,000, depending on the country. The only extra fees should be your service charge, and even that must be fair, reasonable, and done with the fear of God. A professional and honest workmanship fee should be ¢5,000 to a maximum of ¢7,000—not tens of thousands of cedis that push families into debt and disappointment.
If a client does not have all the required documents, that is not an opportunity to exploit them. It is a chance to guide, advise, and support them. Travel agents should remember that even those at the Embassy in your country cannot guarantee a 100% visa, so why should you take huge sums from vulnerable people with promises you cannot fulfill?
From today, if any travel agent takes your money and refuses to tell you the outcome of your visa, refuses to give you access to your portal account, or keeps you in the dark after collecting your funds—contact me immediately. I am ready to help you follow up, demand accountability, and ensure your money is refunded. Even if it takes years, you will get it back. Nobody has the right to take advantage of the dreams of hardworking Ghanaians.
Let us all help one another. Let us protect each other. And to the travel agents, let this be a reminder:
Fear God. Work with honesty. Stop overcharging. Stop exploiting people. A visa application is not a lottery, and it is not a gold mine. It is a servic so serve with integrity
