Dormaahene Reveals GH¢4.36 Million in Cash Gifts Received During 60th Birthday Celebrations
The Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, has disclosed that he received a total of GH¢4.36 million in cash gifts during activities marking his 60th birthday celebrations.
The respected traditional ruler made the announcement during a thanksgiving service held at the Dormaa Methodist Church as part of the grand finale of his birthday celebrations.
Addressing the congregation, the Dormaahene expressed heartfelt gratitude to God, the people of Dormaa, and the numerous individuals and organizations that supported the celebrations. He revealed that the total cash donations received amounted to GH¢4,360,000.
More significantly, he announced that the money would not be used for personal purposes but would instead be invested in the establishment of factories at Dormaa Akwamu to create employment opportunities and promote economic development in the area.
According to the Dormaahene, the proposed industrial initiative forms part of his broader vision to transform the local economy, create jobs for the youth, and stimulate business growth within the Dormaa Traditional Area.
The announcement was met with applause from the congregation, many of whom praised the chief's commitment to development and his decision to channel the funds into a project that could benefit future generations.
The 60th birthday celebrations attracted thousands of people, including traditional rulers, government officials, religious leaders, business executives, youth groups, and residents from across the country. Activities held in his honour included cultural displays, community engagements, a thanksgiving service, and entertainment events featuring some of Ghana's top music stars.
The decision to invest the birthday gifts into factories at Dormaa Akwamu has further strengthened the Dormaahene's reputation as a development-oriented leader committed to improving the livelihoods of his people through sustainable economic initiatives.
Many residents have since welcomed the announcement, expressing optimism that the project will help address unemployment challenges and open new opportunities for young people in the municipality.
