To our poets, panelists, facilitators, partners, attendees and volunteers; know that this festival was yours as much as it was ours. We are immensely grateful for your trust, your time, your voice and your support.

You mean the world to us!

A constellation does not disappear when the screen goes dark, it lives on! We will see you at AAWPFestival 5.0. Until then, keep writing, keep creating and anticipate!

We are still coming down from yesterday. 🖤

Day 2 of the AAWPFestival was everything we prayed it would be! From the very first session to the closing celebration, there was the kind of energy that is only expressed when the right voices find the right room at the right time.

This is a short Day 2 recap.

To every poet, panelist, facilitator, moderator and attendee who showed up, we can’t begin to thank you 🖤

And to everyone who joined us for the very first time this year, we hope you felt what it means to be in a space that was built entirely with you in mind.

We came into this festival from different time zones, with different languages and art, with which we found each other.

We hope that by the end of this festival, you realise that there was never really a border that could hold us apart.

What We Carried is our closing celebration, and honestly, it’s going to be a lot. For this closing act, Emma Ofosua is bringing us home with a chorus of voices to give this constellation what it needs the most. On the lineup, we have Gleh, Afi, Stella Kivuti, Titilope Sonuga, Chioniso and Kira J.

Come close, kin. We’re almost at the end, and it’s going to be beautiful.

This day is for every creative who has crossed borders, found her voice, and made space for others to do the same.

Today is the day💃🏾

The constellation is assembling. Here is everything happening today as we open the doors to Borderless: Digital Constellation Edition.

We’re kicking things off with an opening performance by Thando Fuze, then settling in for a reading of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s The Thing Around Your Neck facilitated by Rachel Armah, Echoes of Arrival, and the AAWPF Market where you can find ebooks, editorial services, courses, commissions and more.
