Field of Dreams Aircooled VW Show THE AIRCOOLED WEEKENDER
📍 Escrick Park Estate, York
🥳 Aircooled VW Show
👐 Everyone welcome Aircooled VW Show to be held in York on 2nd - 4th September 2022.

It will be held at Escrick Park Estate, just outside York. More details on our website www.classicvolks.com. It is an aircooled only show, even though the actual show is aircooled, everybody is welcome to camp, for those who want to stick with the aircooled theme there is an aircooled only camping area within the show arena - this does get fully booked so be sure to book early. We have all sorts going on over the weekend, VW club displays, rat look VWs, junk drumming workshops, kids activities, dog show for charity, a big show n shine on the Sunday, live bands throughout the weekend, buskers dotted around the show area, many traders, a fab catering area, DJs and so much more! If you would like to sponsor the show in some way then please get in touch. And this year, it's going to be a superhero theme - plenty of options for you, your kids and even your dogs! See you soon!

Winner of Best Stock Bay went to this immaculate early bay.

If you know the owner, I'd love you to tag them so that I can find out a bit more about it. One of the best examples of a stock bay I've seen.

This year's judges were a mix of Classic Volks, Magpie Air Cooled, and JLC Autos ltd and what a great job they did in picking this as the winner of Best Modified Splitscreen.

Unfortunately the owner had left prior to the award giving and so we don't have much information, though I do know his friend picked up his trophy for him. If you could tag the owner so we can hear all about it, that would be great. Loved the patina on this one!

Today we are show casing the winner of the Best Stock Splitscreen award at this year's FoD.

This is an absolutely stunning example - I'd love the owner to pop on and tell us some more about it, if you have him on your friends list, please tag him so we can get some more information.

Today’s Show ’n’ Shine spotlight is on Jimmy Dale and his winner of Best Modified Beetle at this year’s Field of Dreams. Starting with what was essentially a barn find in bits, Jimmy combined a 1972 chassis with a 1973 left-hand-drive body, converted it to right-hand drive and added ’60s wings, bonnet and engine lid. It now sits on air ride and runs a 1600cc engine with twin 40 IDF carbs — plus, in Jimmy’s words, “a partridge in a pear tree”!

Ian Turner helped with balancing the engine and getting it running, while Shane of handled the wiring, but everything else was down to Jimmy and YouTube. The build took two and a half years of “tears and financial bankruptcy” and was finished in a BMW metallic green.

Field of Dreams was the car’s very first outing, and Jimmy says he was surprised simply to make it there and back… so winning Best Modified Beetle made the day even more special. Congratulations, Jimmy — a very well-deserved award for a true home-built Beetle.

If you know the owner of this beauty, could you tag them please, absolutely love it. Probably my favourite notch. Thanks...

Over the next few days I'll be sharing the 2026 Show n Shine Winners.

Starting with BEST STOCK BEETLE.

This one is a bit special. It's a 1951 Crotchcooler beetle - definitely one of my favourite models and this is such a genuine example, one of those that you really have to stick your head in the window and have a good sniff - or is that just me 🤔🤷‍♀️🤣.

I'm not sure if the owner is actually on Facebook/Instagram but if he is, please tag.
