York Vintage Dance Group York Vintage Dance Group is a community dance group based in York. We promote, demonstrate, and teach We are a community dance group based in York.

We promote, demonstrate and teach dance classes, both in a social and relaxed atmosphere. We cover a wide range of individual and partner dances from the 1920s to the 1940s & 50s, playing music from those decades, along with more modern retro style songs.

Along with dance classes we also organise vintage & 1940's themed community dances in & around York.
​
At our events we also fundraise to support both Cancer and Alzheimer's Charites, through raffles and our DJ fees. With the emphasis on fun for all ages and abilities, it's a great way to exercise, learn a new skill and make new friends. So why not give dancing a try?

Join us Thursday Aug 6, 2026 at 1:30 - 4.00 pm at Huntington WMC for an afternoon of live music and dance to the established and fabulous Manhattan Sound Big Band from Leeds.

Performing a selection of wonderful vocal arrangements which are performed by lead vocalist Nicki Allan, the resident singer with the band for the last 10 years. She will sing powerful vocal numbers by great female Big Band singers Natalie Cole, Doris Day, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee & Dianne Reeves are a few, plus modern popular arrangements. With DJ Stephen playing some popular music during the breaks, this will be an afternoon not to be missed. Bring your own picnic/lunch and enjoy a bottle of wine or fizz, tea and coffee and drinks from the bar.

Learn a couple of easy new line dances with Rhian from Elevate Dance & Events. Bring your own snacks/supper. Full Bar. Car parking on site. The Club is on the No. 5 and 20 Bus Routes.
