Soon Amore are a York-based chamber choir who enjoy singing a broad range of unaccompanied music We perform 2-3 concerts a year around York.

Soon Amore are a York-based chamber choir who enjoy singing a range of unaccompanied music from across the ages and cultures. We rehearse on Monday evenings in York city centre, and always welcome anyone who wants to consider joining us, but especially tenors. The name Soon Amore comes from the Welsh words "swn y mor", meaning "sound of the sea". We were started in 2002 by a group of friends looki

We so enjoyed bringing your our programme "The Road..." .".. of mostly "a ca****la" choral music with a little bit of piano (thank you Naylor) and violin (Thank you Nerina Onion ). We hope you enjoyed the high roads and low roads, roads together and roads alone, roads to roam and roads to home, pilgrimages afar and paths to where we are."
Chris Bartram did a wonderful job taking us there.
We can't thank the audience enough, you made it a special event, once again.
Our next concert is July 12 and as we start working on that a great time to consider joining us-we are open to all voices. Try us out for a few times if you wish; drop us an email, or get in touch with a choir member or Chris to discuss!

Rehearsals done! Sunday it’s “The Road” concert time 🎶. Our MD Chris Bartram has put together a fabulous programme in true SA style: from old to very new (3 premieres no less!), in song and poetry. Where else would you find that? Hope to see you there!

one more rehearsal and it is "The Road..." time! Sunday Feb 8 4PM. We'll be exploring the intriguing theme of "The Road..." through a typically broad and interesting programme of mostly "a ca****la" choral music with a little bit of piano and violin too. You can expect high roads and low roads, roads together and roads alone, roads to roam and roads to home, pilgrimages afar and paths to where we are. We hope you'll join us as we follow The Road...
