I will be stepping away from organising Spongefest to focus on my career. Over the past three years, I hope we've created lasting memories for those who attended, all while honouring Sam's legacy. Sam, who loved the up and coming music scene, would have been proud to see his name used as a platform for so many local bands and artists.
We've been lucky enough to welcome incredible talent to our stage, from names like Alex Spencer, The Outcharms, Mat Hook, Marples, Marseille, and Smallprint, to local heroes such as Jamie Fox, Lewis Newton and Arcade, alongside headline acts including The Sherlocks and Toploader.
I hope Spongefest has left a legacy — as both a community day for all to enjoy and a festival where emerging talent could shine. Most importantly, with its focus on raising awareness for mental health, I hope it has helped to spark conversations and reduce stigma.
