Our Story

Since its conception of idea back in 2012, we have estimated that over 9000 people of all ages have experienced the Iconic Victorian machine that is known today as the Penny Farthing with Mr Phoebus. From our launch at the beginning of 2013 Mr Phoebus has been invited and endorsed by some of the most prestigious National Trust and Historic sites in the UK, along with a plethora of great events such as The Rapha Tempest Festival part of (Tour De France), both North and South Car-Fest Festivals by Chris Evan's and the grand opening of The Kings Cross Square in London. Private bookings have included Victorian inspired Wedding Days, Special Birthday celebrations, Bar Mitzvah and Vintage fairs. Taking a small idea to a BIG experience, Simon and his team encourage and enable children (as young as 5yrs) to adults of 85 years to enjoy Penny Farthing bicycles that are Easy to Ride with the safety of modern traditional bikes and hold on to the style and grace of the Victorian era. The concept goes beyond just a ride, but a photographic experience with a Full sized Penny Farthing (ordinary), dressing the part in Victorian finery and taking some of the magic home. With a superb Event Portfolio to date, recommendations and testimonials from some of the largest PR and Event Companies in the UK, photoshoots with the likes of Julia Bradbury, Victoria Pendleton, Chris Evans and Boris Johnson and interest from other countries with a fascination for our much loved funny bike with “a Big wheel and a much smaller one”, Mr Phoebus is looking like the wheels are going to keep turning for a long time to come.
