A few pictures of members of the The Garrison Artillery Volunteers, who made The Living History Day in Royal Wootton Bassett so special, making another day very special for the family of Benjamin Boocock.

Some members of the group travelled from Swindon all the way to Leeds.
All members of the re-enactment group that attended did so at their own expense and taking time off work to the funeral of someone they had never met.

The Tailor's Shop Helped prepare the uniforms for Saturday free of charge to show support for what these guys have done and out of respect for the the last member of the Royal Artillery, 49th Division, West Riding, WW2.

This was an amazing send off for WW2 veteran Benjamin Boocock, with the help of some of the Royal Artillery re-enactors who attended our Living History Day, giving up their free time and using their equipment to pay their respects.

Well done Andy Butler and members of the The Garrison Artillery Volunteers.

A world war two veteran from Leeds has been laid to rest with a military funeral.

Any of you who attended our Living History day last year would have seen the amazing re-enactment group that turned up on the day with WW2 vehicles and artillery.

Well some of those involved and friends of there's that didn't make it on the day will be helping make a sad day a day of national pride.

Former artillery sergeant Benjamin Boocock’s coffin will be carried on a gun carriage and members of the group will be in full WW2 battledress, just as he would have been dressed during his service in World War 2.

Such a sad occasion as the number of those who served in the second world war gets smaller and smaller, so it is warming to see that Benjamin will be getting such an amazing send off.

Rest In Peace Benjamin Boocock.

A WORLD War Two veteran’s final wish to have a military funeral is to be granted after his death aged 98.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make yesterday possible.
The event was a great success thanks to Helen Rowe, Hazel Newson, Angie Reeves, Royal Wootton Bassett town council, Colin Armstrong, Ian Davies, Nathan James Pegler, Craig Morton, the Korean War veterans.

Thank you to Swingout Swindon for providing music and dancing, it was great seeing members of the public getting involved and have fun.

And a massive thank you to The Garrison Official and friends who really made the event something special.

First few pics of yesterday's event.
