Are you staying as safe as possible? Here are evoke’s top 7 tips for staying safe around horses!

🔸 Ensure that the helmet you are choosing is suitable for your chosen discipline
🔸 Only buy a helmet if you have had it professionally fitted and never purchase second-hand
🔸 Check the label – does it pass the minimum requirements, or more rigorous testing?
🔸 Don’t assume that expensive means safe – often, the more expensive helmets might pass lower standards than a more affordable option
🔸 Regularly inspect your helmet for signs of damage or wear and tear
🔸 Always remember to replace your helmet after any fall or between 1-3 years dependent on use
🔸 Don’t just wear your helmet when riding, remember, 44% of accidents happen on the ground!
