FolkEast are delighted that the Sound Roots, Artists Mentoring Pathway performance showcase is returning to the festival.

This exceptional mentoring programme equips emerging musicians with the skills, networks and experience needed to build sustainable careers in music and we are privileged to be invited, once again, to be part of such an important initiative.

The 2026-2027 mentees have been officially announced - Eleanor Dunsdon & Gregor Black, Arthur Coates & Kerran Cotterell , Ceitidh Mac and Something Sleeps

We look forward to welcoming you all to FolkEast in August!

We’re proud to be green trailblazers in our field.. One of the advantages of running a festival as a collective is that focus on doing things our way. The environmental impact of larger commercial festivals is huge, but in Suffolk we have so many amazing suppliers on our doorstep. As such we really try to hone in on local sourcing (around 95% of our contractors, food suppliers and equipment are sourced from Suffolk and south Norfolk), eco friendly practices (last year we achieved 75% recycling across the whole event), and community-driven solutions (all our pubs are run by the team at the local pub!).

To compound all the work we have been doing in this area, last year JMP our festival director was named one of Suffolk’s green trailblazers and the festival successfully retained its gold carbon charter.

However.. we couldn’t do any of this without the festival goers, the little Folkers and the grumpy old Folkers who support these initiatives and leave it spotless each year.

We can’t wait to welcome you back in 2026

After the success of the Second Cousins Stage last year, we’re delighted that Jon Wilks has agreed to come back and curate the space for a second year, bringing the spirit and musical innovation of the Les Cousins club to FolkEast. A place for experimentation and something new! If you caught any of the action in 2025, do you remember this extraordinary line up?

As International Women’s day draws to a close we just wanted to celebrate and thank all the incredible women who support and work with us through out the year, keeping the FolkEast engine running.

You may not know them, you may not see them, but they are there, making it happen. From our newsletter writer to stage managers, coordinators and curators, programmers, production and technical team members, information finders, marketing, box office managers and so many more.

You are all totally amazing!

It’s spring time! And we’re preparing for another HUGE announcement this month.. we already added the magnificent , and Peter knight, and ’s shape note workshop over Christmas.. and there is so much more to come.. including the return of the second cousins stage.. anyone remember that wild guitar line up from last year?
