The Calvary - The Memorial was erected in 1920 in memory of the men from Hurst Hill, killed in action in the First World War and the adjacent window was also dedicated to them. This memorial has, since its dedication on the 7th November 1920, been a focal point of the church ground and 74 names recorded on it.

The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin is situated on Gorge Road, Hurst Hill, Sedgley. The church which was consecrated in 1872, is of brick / stone construction and has been built in the Early English style, consisting of chancel, clerestoried nave and aisles. The church contains beautiful woodwork particularly in the chancel and sanctuary, some fine examples of stained glass and a painted screen in the north aisle. The nave was re-ordered in the late 1980’s to provide a nave altar. There is no churchyard though there are additional parcels of land (one containing a disused Activity Centre which obstructs a clear view of the church from part of the road) and the area is surrounded predominantly by residential dwellings. The building is listed as Grade II.
