Join us on Wednesday 16th September 2026 when Andy McIndoe will give a talk on Beautiful Bulbs: Spring bulbs for pots, naturalising and to add colour to beds and borders.

After this long, hot summer, Andy McIndoe will guide us on how to achieve the best results for our Spring gardens.

Andy McIndoe BSc. Hons. Hort is a freelance garden consultant and a Gold Medal-winning designer, with over 45 years’ experience in horticulture. In 2017, he was awarded the RHS Veitch Memorial Medal in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the science and practice of horticulture.

Following a long career with Hillier Nurseries, Andy now works independently, planning and planting gardens of all sizes. He and his wife have a 2.5 acre garden, Sandhill Farm near Romsey, Hampshire, where they welcome visitors by appointment. As an author, Andy has written garden books and contributed to many others both as a consultant editor and writer. He also writes for various magazines and newspapers.

Craft and creativity played a key part in this years 119th Royal Windsor Flower Show from floral demonstrations in The Floral Theatre to flower arranging in the central garden with RWFS Ambassador .

Our competitions marquees inspired and the craft tent saw participants of all ages taking part in the , and creative activities.

Younger visitors also took part in nature based crafts in the .boots garden and fungi themed crafts with .

Plus there were live basketry and stone carving demonstrations in the Royal Warrant Holder marquee.

The Plants With Purpose Garden, co-designed by HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh and Alan Williams of Landform, has found its permanent home at Queen Anne First School in Windsor and Cranbourne Primary School following the Royal Windsor Flower Show.

The children at Queen Anne First School were delighted to plant their new garden alongside Her Royal Highness as it became part of their school and the new RWRHS Nature Studies Programme.

Royal Windsor Flower Show Director Alex Denman said “This is the culmination of the hard work of our volunteers, designers, sponsors and supporters. Together, they’ve created an incredible garden where 30 children at a time can spend time in nature every week throughout the school year. That’s a job well done!”

Exciting news! The central garden at the Royal Windsor Flower Show, The Plants With Purpose Garden, co-designed by HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh and Alan Williams of Landform Consultants, has found its permanent home at both Queen Anne First School and Cranbourne Primary School.

Queen Anne’s is one of the pilot schools taking part in the brand new RWRHS Nature Studies Programme supported by Little Muddy Boots, which aims to help pupils deepen their connection with the natural world while developing practical skills and environmental awareness.

The Duchess joined pupils, staff and RWRHS volunteers to plant the re-located garden, weighed freshly harvested potatoes, visited the Queen Anne wheelbarrow and explored the school grounds. 🌿🐞🥔

A proud and historic moment for the Royal Windsor Rose & Horticultural Society and Royal Windsor Flower Show.

RWRHS Chairman Andrew Try, alongside RWFS Show Director Alex Denman, had the honour of visiting Windsor Castle to present His Majesty The King with the first fellowship of the RWRHS.

This prestigious award recognises individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and service to the Royal Windsor Rose & Horticultural Society and its annual show.

Congratulations and thanks to our inaugural Fellows HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh GCVO, Alan Titchmarsh CBE DL VMH, Andrew Try DL, Mark Gregory and Alan Williams who were presented their fellowships by RWRHS President Lt. Gen. Philip Jones CB CBE DL.

A fitting recognition for those whose dedication has helped shape and support the success of the Royal Windsor Rose & Horticultural Society.
