The Ellis Journey is returning in 2026 on Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th July with a great new format and a spectacular weekend celebrating the spirit of early motoring and honouring the very first documented car journey in the UK.

A Fresh Start in 2026 -Our adventure will start from the picturesque village of Datchet, where participants can enjoy the Datchet Village Fair before being officially waved off on the start of The Ellis Journey 2026.

The Scenic Drive to Micheldever – Our gentle route will take in some of Berkshire’s most beautiful countryside, featuring fascinating stop-offs along the way, including the Nature Discovery Centre, the world-famous Bombay Sapphire Distillery, and a relaxing country pub lunch before arriving in Micheldever.

The evening will feature dinner and entertainment — a chance for participants to unwind, socialise, and celebrate the journey so far.

Following in Ellis’s Tracks – On Sunday 5th July, we depart Micheldever and retrace the original Ellis Journey route back to Datchet. The weekend will conclude with a grand display on Datchet Green, where spectators can enjoy live entertainment, exhibitors, and refreshments as we celebrate the vehicles’ triumphant return.
