🇬🇧This year marks the 640th anniversary of the Anglo-Portuguese Treaty of Windsor. To celebrate this historic milestone, our President Maria Joao Rodrigues Araujo MBE, ComIH, was invited twice to Windsor Castle to speak about the Treaty of Windsor, in the very room, where it was signed, in 1386. For her second presentation at Windsor Castle, a facsimile of the Treaty of Windsor (courtesy of The National Archives) was displayed in the cloisters alongside the commemorative Vista Alegre tray created as part of Portugal-UK 650.
Our President also had the opportunity to show TRH The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh other commemorative editions, including the Isotope Watches “Old Radium Portugal-UK 650”, the Vista Alegre tray “Alliance 650”, the CTT postal card with the Treaty of Tagilde, and artworks created in schools and paediatric hospitals, including those from CMIN (Sailors of Hope project).
TRH Prince Edward and Sophie also learnt about the 300 projects and activities Portugal-UK 650 developed with 220 partner organizations; the involvement of 1500 artists and 250 researchers and speakers; the 16 educational materials, and 13 world premieres; the research projects, academic conferences and publications; as well as the forthcoming visit of the Choir of The Queen's College, Oxford, to Portugal this September.

🇵🇹 Este ano assinalam-se os 640 anos do Tratado de Windsor. Para celebrar este aniversario, a Presidente de Portugal-UK 650 Comendadora Prof Doutora Maria Joao Rodrigues de Araujo foi convidada duas vezes para ir ao Castelo de Windsor, falar sobre o Tratado de Windsor, exatamente na sala onde foi assinado, em 1386. Para a sua última palestra no Castelo de Windsor, esteve em exposição nos claustros o fac-simile do Tratado de Windsor (cortesia dos British National Archives), juntamente com o prato comemorativo da Vista Alegre, concebido no âmbito de Portugal-UK 650.
A Comendadora Maria Joao Rodrigues de Araujo teve também a oportunidade de apresentar as Suas Altezas Reais os Duques de Edimburgo outras edições comemorativas, incluindo o relógio Isotope “Old Radium Portugal-UK 650”, o prato “Aliança 650” da Vista Alegre, o bilhete postal do CTT Correios de Portugal com o Tratado de Tagilde, bem como trabalhos artísticos realizados por escolas e hospitais pediátricos, tais como os do CMIN (projeto Marinheiros da Esperança).
Os Príncipes Edward e Sophie tomaram igualmente conhecimento dos 300 projetos e iniciativas de Portugal-UK 650, desenvolvidos em parceria com 220 organizações; do envolvimento de mais de 1.500 artistas, 250 investigadores e oradores; dos 16 recursos pedagógicos e 13 estreias mundiais; dos projetos de investigação, conferências académicas e publicações; bem como da próxima visita do Coro do The Queen’s College da Universidade de Oxford a Portugal, em setembro.
