The Arc is the place to come together to experience arts, reading and community under one roof, in the heart of Winchester. From live music, comedy and family theatre shows, to high-quality art exhibitions and classes for all ages, The Arc is taking forward the venue's rich history as a live-performance venue and is also home to one of Hampshire's most popular libraries, Winchester Library. The Arc's new digital lab features state-of-the-art iMacs and offers introductory and advanced digital classes for all ages. The updated café has a new menu offering light meals and refreshments throughout the day, while products to accompany our programme of world-class exhibitions are available to browse and buy in The Arc's shop.

We are counting down the days until our opening event - Hooray for Harryhausen! 🎬

Join us on Saturday 26 September as we celebrate the opening day of our new exhibition Ray Harryhausen: Myths in Motion!

At 3:00pm we’ll be showing The Valley of Gwangi (U) followed by a conversation & Q&A with Vanessa Harryhausen, Connor Heaney, John Walsh and Mike Hankin for a special conversation exploring Harryhausen’s life, work and enduring influence on cinema.

This exhibition shares the story of a legendary artist and animator who changed the course of film cinema history, Harryhausen’s innovation in pioneering stop-motion techniques had a lasting effect on viewers and filmmakers alike captivated audiences and inspired generations of filmmakers.

We're looking for creators with a passion for film, fantasy, special effects, art and culture to help us share the excitement of this incredible exhibition ahead of its public opening. If you’d love to attend and share your experience with your followers, we’d love to hear from you.

arTTable is a unique event where each artist is given a table to transform into a snapshot of their creative practice. Share finished work, sketchbooks, works in progress, materials, ideas, experiments or demonstrations. Every table is different, giving visitors a chance to discover the people, processes and stories behind the work.

Whether you're an emerging artist, an established maker or somewhere in between, we'd love to hear from you.

Once registrations have closed, we'll be sending payment links and confirming artist spaces.
