Cairo to Cape Town World Record Attempt Halted

On Tuesday, 14 February 2023, Nick Bourne halted his Cairo to Cape Town record attempt after covering 1,555 km in 4 days. The reasons cited were unsafe road conditions between Dongola and Khartoum. Nick said, " It is hugely disappointing after all the preparation, but traffic volumes have substantially increased since 2015, and the road surface has deteriorated, making it highly probable that an accident would happen". Both Nick and Earth Sports will continue to work on combating climate change and building the Chris Froome Safari Simbaz Cycling Centre in Kenya.

We want to thank our partners, Bimuno and Ark2030, for their support throughout the project, and we look forward to sharing our London to Glasgow journey in April.
