The big Sunnyhill Bank Holiday Weekender won't be happening relish year but the August bank holiday will see some music on the fri sat and Sun and there will be other music going on so still a special space for music and more

Hey all

Just a little shout out from me ....Sandy

Just letting g you all know we hope to keep a live music scene alive in this area and one of our ambitions is to keep the open mic....well open....for the Aurumn and winter too

So I am looking for local or further afield musicians to come for the last thirday in every month
I am happy if you sleep in your van if from further afield and can provide a free pint for a turn
We would love some comedy, spoken word or similar to mix it up a bit

Mark Shotton has wonderfully agreed to help with these evenings round the log burner and I hope that it will be given the support it deserves, as a small venue encouraging live performances and promoting live acts too.

2026 will see some special things happening at Sunnyhill campsite and The Jolly Farmer bar

Thank you everyone for everything that you are and have been
I truly believe that this year was incredible and I am truly blessed with all the people that made it such an amazing success

Please feel free to add things to this page throughout the winter and spring

However

I need to reset, reprogramme and regain before 2026, we all have personal pressures and people that need us and I know the loving people I encountered in the field will all truly get this

I will share.on here the teeny events I have planned for Sunnyhill campsite and The Jolly Farmer bar and I am open to people renting the campsite or the campsite and part of the hay field for people to celebrate something with family and friends.
This still needs to be a love music spot for locals and passers by...the open mic the last Thursday of every month round the log burner will continue and I will defo kidnap a few musicians on their way past for the odd summer eve gig in the bar .... However this was the last Sunnyhill Bank Holiday Weekender I simply have to prioritise other things, people time x

I have a hefty black book of the logistics for Sunnyhill packages with this the artists, sound, marquee, lighting and can even provide you with a bar I believe this place can keep her magic as a hidden gem and manage her own existence

Please note

The hay field/part of cannot be rented separately to the campsite unless for offered yoga retreat weekend off grid camping and as part of our packages and I am limited legally

The campsite on its own is a max of 75 people this is inclusive of 6 people in the yurt and 4 in hut

Yes bell tents can be provided for additional fees

There are houses around us and we are a small rural area, the bar is licensed until 11pm we feel this.is proficient as the bar can be opened from 11am if necessary

Additional licenses/insurances/toilets/waste disposal are required for the additional space of the hay field

If the whole of the campsite and part of hay field are provided we wouldn't expect more than 120 guests on site

Thank you Mark Watkin Price Music i have been overwhelmed with the support and motivation to help with my lil place appreciate all the love and support from you all xx

What a weekend. A special thanks to Sandy, Stu and the team for such a fabulous welcome at Sunnyhill Bank Holiday WeekenderFestival.
So many people came up and said how much they enjoyed the set.

Which paid the petrol to get home.

I played last year as well, and it was a delight to catch up with friends we had made at that time Driven Serious, 3 Daft Monkeys and many, many more.

Seriously, though, this is one of those events where the site owners have not sold out and sold their land to property developers or turned their festival into a commercial big-money profit trough because they want to perpetuate live music, to give it an audience and create a sense of family and community.

Please, please, please support your local live music venue. They are closing with depressing regularity. Go and support live bands/musicians wherever you can. Without them, AI will feed drivel to the masses. Please rise above it. But venues depend on certainty, so pre-buy tickets so they know that an event can go ahead and they can eat afterwards.

And so it was that the Sunnyhill Bank Holiday Weekender was over for 2025 you cannot hear what I am saying on this as I had lost my voice. Probably a good job because this was just a drunken rambling of gratitude
To all that came
All that donated into the jar ....(it was put in with the band's funds)
All the people who bought a pint, danced like no one was watching ...All the people who met more people made friends and learnt something

All the stall holders and musicians, who make this event the best small non corporate event you will find, these are self employed business people trying to make a living

And finally to the incredible team of people who helped me get this going this year I won't mention names unless I miss one and they're offended

And finally finally thank you from the bottom of my heart Stu xx for being the most supportive hubby I could ask for x
